Lancaster and Chester #91 was among the last SW900s built. She rolled off the assembly line in October, 1965 with sister unit #90. Fifty two years later, the end cab switcher is still on the L&C, though it has been relegated to shuffling cars at the Circle S Feed Mill for the better part of the last two decade while the railroad's other end cabs have been sold off.

Lancaster and Chester Railway SW1200 #94 leads SW1500 #96 through the small village of Pleasent Hill, South Carolina back in 2003. They are on the way to the ADM plant in Kershaw on the former Southern Railway SB Line.

L&C 94 was built in 1957 as Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) 7917. With the merger between that railroad and the New York Central, it became Penn Central (PC) 9017. Uopn the formation of Conrail, it became CR 9336 and was then sold t the L&C in 1996. The L&C's new parent owner, the Gulf & Ohio Railways, traded it to the Florida Central in 2016 for a CF7 which went to noxville Locomotive Works.

I lucked into this shot of a two train meet in Darlington, South Carolina in June 2006. The South Carolina Central Railroad was still owned by RailAmerica at the time and it survived for years without any RA-painted locomotives plying the rails. And then GWI came along and everything went orange.

The Sandersville Railroad (SAN) was chartered in 1893 as a subsidiary of the Central of Georgia Railroad to run from a connection of that railroad in Tennille to Sandersville. It was extended north five miles from Sandersville to a kaolin mine and processing plants near Deepstep, GA.

Nicknamed The Kaolin Road, the Sandersville operates nine route miles along with two branch lines. The company rosters four SW500s, one MP15DC and two slug units which they call boosters.

From 2006 to 2014, See Lancaster, the local tourist organization for my hometown, along with the Lancaster and Chester Railway, ran Santa Trains on the first weekend of December. Then the railroad said they were no longer going to be able to run the trains citing more freight business and less crew hours to do so.

Trains going by are a normal daily occurance here in West Vancouver and in order to walk along the shoreline one has to cross the tracks. Here the Engineer waves to people waiting to go across the right of way train tracks.

UP 4-4-0 119 at Golden Spike National Historic Site in northern Utah.

This is not the original locomotive. The original UP 119 was renumbered 343 in 1882 and sold for scrap sometime in the early 1900s.

In 1975, a team of experts in California were tasked with recreating - without any blueprints - UP 119 and the "Jupiter". The locomotives at GS NHS are the result, and are as authentic as they can get based solely off of photos.

A Lancaster and Chester Railway has stopped at Circle S Feed Mill to pick up a locomotive off of the spur. They had brought a train from ADM in Kershaw with three GMTX units. Another three locomotives were sitting at Circle S. For a moment it looked like they would leave for Chester with all three units, but the crew set off the two L&C motors and left with the four leased locomotives.

GMTX #2666 was built in 1971 as Louisville & Nashville #4037. It later became CSXT #2167. When GATX Rail Locomotive Group acquired the locomotive, they upgraded it to GP38-2 standards.

Cereal train Arévalo - Gijón. The photo was taken in Villanueva de la Tercia, in the north of Spain. Except the two first locomotives out of a total of thirty, all the electric locomotives series 251 where built in Spain by CAF and Macosa under license from Mitsubishi. The other two came directly from Japan.
