I thought this to be somewhat subtle ~ during my walk this morning I noticed the sunlight falling across this tree standing in a garden!
From a distance, it appeared that something was falling downwards but when closer it was the lovely sunlight enhancing the old tree!

The Hot Creek Geologic site is an active geothermal site in the shadows of the Eastern Sierra mountains. Dozens of hot springs dot the landscape, with trails leading close to the boiling waters.
According to @visitmammoth swimming is illegal here due to Hot Creek's rapid temperature fluctuations; temperatures recorded changing over 200 degrees in the matter of mere seconds.
I always want to manage the mass amount of my hiking photos so many years ago since I don't have the ability to do a long hiking any more. Let me try to upload the photos of the fantastic trail this time and hope it will be completed finally.
Mabolasi Crossing Trail starts from Dongpu Entrance in the west part of Taiwan and ends at Yuli Bridge in the east part of Taiwan.
The total length of the trail is approximately 84.7 kilometers, and we took 8 days to complete it. The highest point of the trail is Xiuguluan Mountain with a maximum peak height of 3,825 m.
I have forgotten all the details so let the pictures tell the story.
These photos were digitalized from films and are just for memory and records.
Some spots and scenes may probably no longer exist since it's about 15 years ago.

Double exposure cyanotype photogram of trailing leaves picked from a nearby hedgerow. The leaves were moved during the exposure to create the layers and tones. Hahnemuhle Britannia watercolour paper A3 size. Total exposure time 10 minutes.
So called because it is at the end of a pack trail. The pack trail is shown on USGS 7.5' map of this area. This is the only standing headframe in the Delamar district that I have found. This photo was taken in between the mill ruin shots on this day.
I parked down by the mill and hiked up to the ridge. The trail skirts along the upper edge of the crater that is the Glory Hole of the Hogpen Shoot (gotta love that name) and it runs along the northwest side of the ridge. There are some minor scrambling stretches (very minor) at first and then the trail essentially follows the 6,850' contour. There is another abandoned mine along the approximately 2,000 foot length trail, it is a hole in the ground with waste rock piled around and nothing else. This mine and the others in this immediate area are all on an incline that I estimate about 70 degrees from horizontal.
The pack trail is not very easily seen as it has been a long time since it was used. The easiest way to follow is to run the USGS map on your device and keep your cursor (your position) on or near where the trail was. It is obvious in many sections but some areas are just steep woods with no trail apparent. There are a couple of spots where trees have grown near or on the old trail, and must be bypassed. It is also pretty easy to note where this is on the map and head that way – I would describe this area as rugged country so the pack trail is the easy way.
Saw four wild horses along the way, walked right up on one to within 50 feet.

The Virginia Creeper Trail is a 35-mile multi-purpose rail trail. Located in southwestern Virginia, the trail runs from Abingdon to Whitetop, Virginia, near Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and the North Carolina state line.
Light trails of cars passing across the bridge over the river Dronne in Brantome, Perigord, France. I liked the composition of this shot but found it impossible to do anything about the very bright doorway on the left of the bridge. Whatever I tried just looked wrong. In the end, I worked on another shot of the same view and cropped the doorway out, but I still prefer this composition.
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.

Icefalls - the glacial equivalents of waterfalls - on the peaks lining the western wall of the Gondogoro Glacier come down in characteristic chaos to the trail we followed past Xuspang and down south to Saicho.
This was the second last day of trekking, the terrain was flat and lovely. From what I recall this is right after we crossed the Gondogoro Glacier, hopped on to its lateral moraine and moved on a bit west-wards. I think it was westwards. I will have to consult my GPS to make sure. It was a GORGEOUS unreal surreal place and I wish I had not run out of memory for more pictures. I think I shall return to Hushe and go up to the base of Gondogoro La one more time.

The Shafer Trail is the most direct, if somewhat sinuous, route from the rim of Islands in the Sky to White Rim Road, running along the escarpment above the Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park. In this photo, Shafer Trail drops nearly 1,500 feet.
Tucking myself into a needed sleeping bag, I decided to try for a star trail & aurora combo. The cool wind blew, I read a book, then fell asleep. All while the camera recorded an hour's worth of night sky movement - with a touch of Aurora on the horizon.
I could reach the camera from my bed.
