"Campanula poscharskyana", the Serbian bellflower or trailing bellflower, is a semi-evergreen trailing perennial, valued for its lavender-blue star-shaped flowers. It is native to the Dinaric Alps in former Yugoslavia.
Flowers are lavender-blue and bloom from mid-spring to early autumn. The leaves are edible year round, and can be put in salads.

Between Basin Lake and Heart Lake, much of the Heart Lake Trail goes through a forest with poor views. However, it's lovely country when it opens up.
To me, this terrain is classic Yellowstone. If you stay on the roads, however, you won't see much of it.
The Ghost Town Trail totals 46 miles in Indiana and Cambria Counties, Pennsylvania. The trail was originally established in 1991 when the Kovalchick Salvage Company donated 16 miles of the former Ebensburg & Black Lick Railroad to Indiana County.
In 1993 the Cambria & Indiana Railroad donated an additional 4 miles from Rexis to White Mill Station known as the Rexis Branch. In 2005 an additional 20 miles were added to the trail - 12 miles in Indiana County and 8 miles in Cambria County. The trail is designated as a National Recreation Trail by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
My first time trying out trails on my new camera which Rob surprised me with. think it worked out pretty good :)
A trail goes through some old trees, appealing to the lenses. Weird coloring, this winter has to offer. Frozen air on the ground, green tree bark not so frozen. Still makes an interesting contrast.
Starting to get an autumnal look in late September; former railway line in the Peak District near Hassop.
On the right side of Skógafoss exists a stair, which takes you to the top of this majestic waterfall.
On top of Skógafoss exists a small fence, which if you jump will take you on to a beautiful trail. Just follow the river which changes into the waterfall and walk along it as far as you wish to go.

These nice purple flowers (orchids, purple on white background) were seen on Ocean Vista Trail at the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden [Nature Preserve] - Hilo, Big Island of Hawaii.
The skies were pretty boring tonight - so John and I decided to try some light trails. It was different - and out of our comfort zone!

Trail 214 is a horse trail in SIlvercreek Falls State Park, Silverton Oregon. The park is best known for its spectacular waterfalls, but often the surrounding trails yield some beautiful views.
The mist trail is really misty towards the top of the waterfall. You have to be careful when you go up but even more if you are coming down. The stairs are wet and slippery from all the water. The views are great but be there early, as crowds build up quickly.
Massanutten Storybook Trail is a very short hike to an amazing view overlooking the Shenandoah Valley.

CP 252 passing the Plattsburgh station. There was a better than not chance that 7010 would lead but the railroad works in mysterious ways so CP's new heritage locomotive once again trails behind on the coming daylight run down the D&H.

So this photo came from a throw-away night, after 20+ hours on the plane flying from UK to Indonesia, bed was more interesting than my camera, so this was hastily setup on my hotel balcony to capture an astro time lapse.
The location, position on the milkyway, light pollution, weather, moonlight, humidity were all terrible and the time lapse was junk! 1500+ images looking like i've left my lens cap on. Not that it matters, not coming away with the results that we wanted is all part of the course in taking photos.
Im not about to get this printed and hung but its nice to see what can be salvaged from junk. 5 or so hours record time 1500/1600 images cleaned up and loaded into Starstax, de-zippered until i lost the will to live and final touches in LR. Its still messy but there is something about zooming in on this photo that i love, specualting and debating to try and explain away the various points of light.
