February 14, 2017: Action from the DCSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships being held at P.G. Sports and Learning Complex in Hyattsville, Md. Photo credit: © Cory Royster / Cory F. Royster Photography
This is a continuation from my photo travels the other day. I headed into town after being happy with my tree find. I originally went into town to finally pick up a game for my PS3, but something compelled me to drive to a parking lot and walk the railroad tracks. I am glad I did.
This marks the second time I have roamed the tracks in downtown Madison. This trip brought me to a bridge that crosses a small river. The fog was insane and really added to the atmosphere here. I snagged a few shots with many Stephen King books roaming through my mind. It is really amazing just how much fog can change the mood of a scene.
I really debated on making this a black and white photo. I choose not to in order to preserve the rusty tracks. Some photos I take instantly tell me what I need to do for processing. This happens to be just one of those photos.
Enjoy!

Another little detail that's somewhat hard to notice is the Tracker's Mask - it's got quite a bit of scarring on one side! You know, I think that maybe he learned a very valuable lesson one day while he was taking care of his animals.
Tracking display in one of the launch and guidance control vans. Nike Hercules Site SF-88L is at the center, and the greater San Francisco Bay Area is represented clearly.
Obsolete today, selenium rectifiers were commonly used in military and civilian electronic equipment during the service life of the Nike Hercules system. While they were more reliable than vacuum tube rectifiers, this warning is a testament to the hazards they could pose when they did fail.
Nike Hercules Site SF-88L, the only restored Nike Hercules launch site in the United States. It is located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County, California, north of San Francisco.

The former Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul line running past the old, steel railroad water tank - at Mystic in southeast Iowa.
Looking through some old shots last night, I found this painterly version of the tracks and tank at Mystic. I still definitely prefer the monochrome, but thought this one was kind of fun in a different way. : )
Drilled a viewhole to monitor the tracking once the cover is on. Its not realy neaded for the blade stays where it is tracked, but its a nice touch.
Also made the knob to adjust the blade guide.
Here is a shot taken during the long jump events at the annual Chico Multi-event Classic at Chico State where decathlon and heptathlon track and field events for men and women were held over a 2-day period. I get a big kick out of the facial expressions and body positions assumed by the athletes during this event.
Image was shot with Nikon D750 + 80-200 f/2.8.

Taken in Plzen, CZ . In the 19th century on these tracks, trains full with beer were leaving the Pilsner Urquell factory . One interesting fact is that during summer the wagons had double walls and between the walls ice was put to keep the beer at the same temperature as in the factory's cellar till the wagons were reaching the destination (usually pubs) .

Due to low water levels I could walk over an area of thie Upper Sure river that is normally submerged. I found some animal tracks but I'm unsure about the animal that made them. I think it could be either an otter or a badger. Any expert out there who could shed some light?
Caught up with 7th and 8th grade students in Des Moines competing in a track and field meet. Rather than one city-wide meet for all ten middle schools, the competition is being divided into three separate meets to keep the crowd smaller and spaced out. Callanan, Meredith and Merrill middle schools competed at this meet hosted at Hoover High Schools.
