We choose a very hot day to go up to Schmittenhöhe. +33°C and very humid. Kim wasn´t very happy either with the steep angle in the beginning. Maybe I was cruel to go up this mountain in these temperatures.
Set off from home today. Went to Hayfield, then over moors to Kinder Scout, across Pennine Way to Snake Pass and down the valley (picture) back to Glossop. I encountered hot sun, wind, rain, grey skies and blue skies, blossoming heather, running streams, red grouse and skylarks. In all 19 miles. Oh, and the cost? £0.00.
