At Maglehoej Beach, Lolland, Denmark

After posting lots of bleak, snowy landscapes lately, I thought I'd post something from high summer. This was taken in a Derbyshire meadow in July, looking towards Bamford Edge.

Inside the The abbey of Our Lady in Lonlay (or Lonlay-l'Abbaye).

This abbey, at first situated outside the town of Lonlay (now the place has grown) was founded by William of Bellême (Guillaume Ier de Bellême), with the original charter signed around 1020. It was a Benedictine abbey, built in Romanesque style. It had several priories, including Notre Dame sur l'eau in Domfront (which can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/dameboudicca/20515002803 ). The whole place saw substantial renovations and rebuilding in the 12th and 14th century and the church is now in the Gothic style. But it also saw two fires in the 16th century - the first started by accident in 1533 (which destroyed much of the abbey archives) and the second by Huguenots in 1574 during the War of Religions. The Benedictine order left after this and the place was never fully rebuilt. The church was also damaged by bombs in 1944 and the liberation of France. A full restoration (including archaeological studies) began in 1965 and in 1973 the church was once again open for parish use.

It's coming quickly now ...

Continuing with my Positive Flags of the Nations project.

We need to show how we can be polite, respective, courteous, understanding & kind to all, no matter who they are! It is MORE THAN TIME FOR US TO COME TOGETHER!!!

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

This was taken near the end of the Govenors Bay Jetty looking back towards where it began during the really foggy day a while back. Somewhere hidden in the fog my parents were waiting patiently for me to finish taking photos so we could head home. Dad actually ended up starting up the jetty to make sure I hadn't fallen in or something since they could no longer see me once the fog rolled in even thicker than what it had been =)

The ferry is ready for sailing towards the storm on the connection Halsa - Kanestraum in Møre og Romsdal, Norway.

A heavy rain cloud was coming in fast from the west, and I managed to take this picture before I had to run for shelter.

On our journey across the island on the FV-621 we are heading towards the small village of Ajuy at the north-west coast of Fuerteventua. This spot is famous for it's black beach and the impressive caves.
