Cats Sleep Anywhere

Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.

Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.

Open drawer, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do.

Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.

Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere.

Ember and Ozzy explore the new cat tree on arrival.

...do you think I would claw Dad's speakers? How could you think such a thing?"

Larry brought his big speakers back in the house. Dora thinks they're GREAT!

They obviously look like a scratching post to her! AND.....the extra bonus is, that if she climbs to the top, she can reach the livingroom mantel!

Yep! The only surface in the whole house I could put a vase of flowers, or anything else I didn't want them to get to, is now cat accessible. I have removed my antique oil lamps. They are now safely in the closet, until further notice!

(More Robert E. Lee later, fear not.)

This little poofball is LUCY. We were clear on the other side of town last week, having dropped off my computer at the Genius Bar for a once-over. Hubby wanted to show me something at Best Buy, so we went to the BB over there. A PetsMart was right next door, and we moseyed in to see two cute little torties dozing in their kitty condo. There was playing, there was snuggling, there was the tossing of toys...You can see the result!

She's a real firecracker. I'm tempted to rename her "Vivien", which means "lively". It would suit. She's a real cutie-pie...I call her my little burnt marshmallow (don't ask why, pet owners know these things happen). Lucy is just a darling little poofball.

Ben, of course, adored her from the start. It is his way, being the collie who is friend to all kitties of the world. Buckley was a little more hesitant, and there was a great deal of growling and hissing from him as he waited and sniffed and stared beneath the door (Lucy has her own room for the time being, 'till everyone is safely acquainted and used to the idea). Within three or four days, though, Buckley was jovially pushing bottlecaps and balls around with Lucy from the other side of the door, shoving those huge paws of his beneath.

She will have been in residence here two weeks this coming Tuesday (I know, I know, but I had no computer and YOU chase two cats and a dog around, see how much time YOU have!), but she and Buckley (and Ben, of course) are now getting along quite famously. Buckley can sometimes play a bit rough, being used to Ben, but overall he seems to really enjoy his new little sister.

So, this is Lucy! Expect more of her to come, of course.

Unless she's renamed Vivien. ;)

I gotta say I'm looking forward to taking down the tree this year. I'm getting pretty tired of picking up ornaments and straightening up the tree skirt.

A tortiseshell cat stalks around the staircase of a neighbor's house, into an alleyway separating that house from the next house, in Albany, CA. Taken by a Nikon D610 at ISO 400 with a Nikkor 50mm Æ’ 1.8 AF-D lens.

Unknown what's causing the vignette at upper right - possibly the rubber lens hood on this lens is hitting something...

Stella was a good girl, and didn't make a peep during her examination.

She purred up a storm while Dr. Feaster looked her over.

(9650-1cleaningcrewkittenlittermember-nameq) This little Torti kitten in the Cleaning Crew Litter is either Electrasol, Goo-B-Gone or Clorox, but I don't know yet which one. I think this Torti one of the 5 is named Electrasol. I have to double check.

Braille the blind kitten was brought into the hospital as a tiny stray with a horrific eye infection. Thanks to lots of TLC, she grew strong and had both eyes removed. She's been adopted by her foster mom Kayla.

She probably wanted feeding when I took this, it's all she ever wants! Yet she manages to stay slim...not like her cuddly sister Dreamie. :)
