From Brother #1's family.

This is Wisconsin store card 220B-1a (R6). It grades MS-64 Red & Brown.

It was owned by the die sinkers Mossin & Marr, then by their families until 1990. Chester Krause owned it form 1990-2009, when I purchased it. at his Civil War Token Auction in Madison, Wisconsin. One Civil War Store Card sold for $15,500. : )

Most of the tokens in that auction originated in Wisconsin, the state in which he lived and was deeply involved. Mr. Krause recently donated $750,000 to the American Numismatic Association. He has also been an influential collector in the world of Civll War Tokens and Store Cards.

Civil War Tokens are the most interesting form of coinage that I know of, and Conder Tokens are second. From quite primitive to highly sophisticated, CWT's range in quality of design and strike. All of the 25 million that exist today were struck in a four year period, by only 32 die sinkers.
