Taken for Macro Mondays group theme Found in my Pocket

From Brother #1's family.

An unlisted Santa Barbara token struck by L. H. Moise in San Francisco ca. 1897.

Ymir, along with Nowa, were the token Loli's int he Queen's Blade line up, though I think Ymir was more so that Nowa, who was just more part of the Itty Bitty Committee Ymir was dressed in effectively a Loli dress and armed with a giant ass axe..

When the series moved to Season 2, as it were, Rebellion, I don't remember too many classic characters being present, as I don't believe they were involved in the story arc. But, much to my surprise, Ymir showed up again... never knew she was that popular. But sure enough there she was, this time adored in black and carrying twin axes.

Megahouse did their version of course and that's what I'm looking at today.

The character was basically redesigned. Outfit we kind of talked about, and is definitely more mature this time around, being some mixture between bondage and Pirates with its predominately Gold and Black theme. Armour count has gone up too, wear a pair of armoured Gauntlets and Greaves that are thigh high. I like how were skirt is dual layered, with the tartan patterned cloth above.

This statue was also one of the few Megahouse Queen's Blade releases that had some sort of display variation. There are two face plates. There is a swivel ont he neck and the arms have some articulation, allowing you the freedom to modify her pose slightly, though sadly the rest of the body is fixed.

The outfit is a combination of soft and rigid plastic parts, so be careful handing the bow on her back and the ribbons that are attached to her garter.

As with the first figure, beautifully sculpted hair, though you can easily seen where mould lines were.

Overall, the design reminds me very much of Saber Alter.

Cast off is generally straight forward, involving a seam at the sie of the top and need to yank off the torso to remove the skirt. garger and general lower body area is nicely done though as you can imagine, there's not much to see above the waist line other than some unfortunate paint transfer. The articulation still functions in this mode.

Overall the statue is beautifully finished with glossy finishes put to good use. Build wise, its really just the finishes on some pars. The actual joints and other moving parts hold together quite nicely.

Sorry G, couldnt resist,

hopes this keeps all the shiny happy people happy

The Canadian Tulip Festival / Festival Canadien des Tulipes in Ottawa the capital city of Canada

The Canadian Tulip Festival began after the Second World War, when Princess Juliana of the Netherlands presented Ottawa with 100,000 tulip bulbs as a token of friendship in 1945.

Canada had provided asylum for the Dutch royal family during the war and played a strong role in the Netherlands’ liberation. While the royal family sought refuge in Ottawa, Princess Juliana gave birth to Princess Margriet on January 19th 1943 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. The Canadian government temporarily declared the room “Dutch soil,” to ensure that the Princess would remain in line for the throne.

The Netherlands continues to give Ottawa 20,000 tulip bulbs every year.

Ottawa’s first Canadian Tulip Festival took place in May 1953 and opened with an inauguration ceremony at Parliament Hill.

The Canadian Tulip Festival has grown into the largest annual display of tulips in North America.

The Canadian Tulip Festival is also a celebration of the return of spring, with over a million tulips in 50 varieties blooming in public spaces across the National Capital Region.

Inside the ticket office near the Bridge over the River Kwai. These machines are there so the signal man can exchange token with train drivers in order to get permission to operate the next section of track on any single lines. In Thailand where there are areas that don't have Automatic Block system it is important to exchange token from driver to station operators and back to driver again.

An early American company making tokens and medals. Through multiple sales, they are today represented by Osborne in Cincinnati.

I saw lots and lots of wildlife that day, puffins, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, California sea lions, sea otters, orcas, brown bears, a moose swimming across the bay, and many, many humpbacks like this one. However, I gave up taking pictures of them. They were fast (and mostly far away.) and I decided I'd rather actually see them then fumble with the camera for mediocer photographs. There were at least eight humpbacks feeding here and I took the picture by holding up the camera and snapping.
