The People's Friendship Arch / (Arka druzhby narodiv/Арка дружби народів), in Khreschatyk Park, Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine.
Built in 1982, along with the Ukrainian House International Convention Centre, the 50m high titanium arch was built by sculptor A. Skoblikov and architect I. Ivanovto to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the USSR, and the 1500 anniversary of the founding of Kyiv. Below it stands a statue of the workers of Russia and Ukraine holding up the Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples. In recent years it has been temporarily painted rainbow colours and renamed the Arch of Diversity for Eurovision, and had a temporary crack installed in it to highlight the damage ongoing tensions with Russia are having on the relationship.
EDIT: now rightfully torn down!
Shot with my Nikon D40 and a Sigma 10-20mm EX DC HSM lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.

Titanium coated quartz crystals on top of rough sapphires in a crystal whiskey glass with shadow echo.
Poor Bailey has damaged his Anterior Cruciate Ligament beyond repair, so now his knee is held together with a Titanium cage, plate and screws. He is recovering remarkably well. This is just two days after the Op.

This creates these wonderful dark rainbow colors with gold and silver as well and makes the crystal look very beautiful and magical.

Titanium is a chemical element with symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is a lustrous transition metal with a silver colour, low density and high strength. It is highly resistant to corrosion in sea water, aqua regia, and chlorine.
Titanium was discovered in Cornwall, Great Britain, by William Gregor in 1791 and named by Martin Heinrich Klaproth for the Titans of Greek mythology.
The element occurs within a number of mineral deposits, principally rutile and ilmenite, which are widely distributed in the Earth's crust and lithosphere, and it is found in almost all living things, rocks, water bodies, and soils.
The metal is extracted from its principal mineral ores by the Kroll and Hunter processes.
The most common compound, titanium dioxide, is a popular photocatalyst and is used in the manufacture of white pigments. Other compounds include titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4), a component of smoke screens and catalysts; and titanium trichloride (TiCl3), which is used as a catalyst in the production of polypropylene.

Closing up this nice looking business jet: the ACJ of Russian tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov. This same plane visited us in 2016 and also in 2017. Very elegant livery for this VIP bird!
I've tried some wicked effects and different crop for this, and I really like the result. Would be better if it was a BBJ instead of ACJ, by the way... lol
