Photography is the art of being able to see the world one moment at a time, and still being able to make sense of it all. -- Jason Raddin

Autumnal mood at Eibsee at the end of october with fogs and clouds forming soonly at th afternoon to cover the lower regions. View goes to Zugspitze, the highest mountain of Germany.
Due to one thing and another, it's been a few months since I took the camera for a walk. But, a combination of more time, snow and sunshine persuaded me to leave home comforts and see what we could find.
I had gone about fifty yards along the riverside path when I slid over.
Obviously, I've forgotten how to walk!

Caspian Tern. Caspian Terns feed by hovering over the water, and diving for fish schooling near the surface. Crustaceans may be taken in the same fashion, and pirating may also yield supplemental food. IMG_3278

The Point Reyes peninsula is a well defined area, geologically separated from the rest of Marin County and almost all of the continental United States by a rift zone of the San Andreas Fault, about half of which is sunk below sea level and forms Tomales Bay. The fact that the peninsula is on a different tectonic plate than the east shore of Tomales Bay produces a difference in soils and therefore to some extent a noticeable difference in vegetation
Point Reyes National Seashore is a 71,028-acre (287.44 km2) park preserve located on the Point Reyes Peninsula in Marin County, California, USA. As a national seashore, it is maintained by the US National Park Service as a nationally important nature preserve within which some existing agricultural uses are allowed to continue. Clem Miller, a US Congressman from Marin County wrote and introduced the bill for the establishment of Point Reyes National Seashore in 1962 to protect the peninsula from residential development which was proposed at the time for the slopes above Drake's Bay. The mix of commercial and recreational uses was the reason the area was designated a National Seashore rather than a National Park. All of the park's beaches were listed as the cleanest in the state in 2010.
Point Reyes was one of the locations where the 1980 horror film The Fog was filmed.

Macro Mondays theme "Green"
These three small Ivy leaves are taking their heart content of the bright sun shining during this cold Autumn afternoon. It was good to see the sun again after such a depressing and gloomy week! 😊

EXPLORED! Rank 171, February 26, 2009
Beginning of afternoon thunder snow storm. I have added contrast - it developed into near white-out conditions that dropped at least 5 inches of snow in three hours.
A view from the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet , British Columbia, looking out towards Barkley Sound and The Broken Group Islands. This is one of the most amazing trails I have ever experienced!
*All comments, Faves, notes, Awards, and views are welcome with open arms!! :-) *

... as the Christmas carol goes! Shot earlier in December when we were snowed in for quite a while ... and given the Vinci oil paint treatment. The snow is back again, but we did manage a 'green' Christmas in between the white-outs! Hope that you are enjoying the festive holiday. Here in Scotland it mainly lasts another week, as there is Hogmanay still to come. So Wednesday January 3rd is when 'normal' returns ;o)
Happy Festive Fence Friday!!
