The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subjects responsible for the armed robbery of the Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 1315 E. Washington Lane on Sunday, July 10, 2011.
One of the subjects stayed inside the store as employees were closing for the day at 8:00 PM, and after the door was locked he pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and announced a robbery. He ordered an employee to let two accomplices into the store, had the employee re-lock the door, and then handcuffed all of the employees. The subjects ordered the store manager to open the safe, and then took cash from the safe, along with cigarettes and cigars, before fleeing the pharmacy in an unknown direction. There were no physical injuries to the employees.
The subject who stayed inside and pulled out the gun is described as a black male in his 30’s, 6’2” tall, 250 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap with white lettering and a logo on the front, a black shirt, and tan cargo pants. A second subject is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’7” tall, 175 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath, long white basketball shorts, brown work boots, and a white plastic mask which he donned once inside the pharmacy. A third subject has already been taken into custody by the Philadelphia Police Department.
Pictures of the two subjects who remain at large are attached to this email. Anyone with information about these subjects is asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department or the FBI at 215-418-4000. These subjects are considered armed and dangerous. There may be a reward for information leading to the capture of these subjects, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
In December 2013, a very old-looking sign for Kelly Motor Trucks was unearthed at a construction site near Eleventh Street and Grand Avenue; a tipster sent along these photos, along with an article from 1913 announcing that one Frank G. Miner had decided "upon the establishment of a factory branch of the Kelly-Springfield Motor Truck company in Los Angeles." (We found an LA Times article from April 1913, "[s]hortly after opening."
I'm not sure if they finished painting over it but there are condos right up against it now.

Recently disscussing on Facebook Group about Warrington Memories, sent me back to 1979 when the gatehouse at Thames Board Mills handed out Spotters Lists of the visiting Robsons Transport Trucks. All the names started with Border. IE "Border Tipster" Happy days train spotting & Border spotting at Arpley!
nrhp # 94000441- One of the more bizarre sights anywhere is the face on the courtroom window -- aka, the Lightning Portrait of Henry Wells.
Wells, a former slave, was accused of burning the original Pickens County Courthouse in 1876. He was finally arrested two years later. As there was no jail, Wells was placed in the garret of the new courthouse. A mob of locals gathered outside to lynch him.
As Wells peered out the garret window, a bolt of lightning struck nearby and permanently etched his terrified expression into the windowpane. Wells died less than two months later "of wounds received while attempting to escape."
The lightning photo is still visible today, and only from the outside. Up on the third floor, an arrow painted on the outside directs you to the miraculous face.
According to one RA tipster: "Through all the years, in spite of hail and storm, which has destroyed all the windows in the courthouse, this one pane has remained intact. It has been scrubbed with soap and rubbed with gasoline by those who doubt its permanence, but it has met every test and the face remains unchanged. At close range the pane looks clear and flawless, but viewed from the ground where once gathered an angry mob, the fear-distorted face of Henry Wells can be clearly seen!"

Film Destroying Recipe: "Lava Lamp"
Ingredients:
• 1 Roll Agfa CT Precisa 100 35mm.
• 1 Dishwasher Cycle with Detergent (normal)
• 1 Dark Room
• 1 Hair Dryer
Process:
1) Put your roll of film into the cutlery basket of your dish-washer, (so as to keep it from flying about) add regular dish-washer detergent and set to a normal cycle.
2) Once the cycle is finished be sure to rinse the film in clean cold* water afterwards thoroughly

A tipster sends in the above pic and the following note about Chinatown breakfast staple Mei Lai Wah: "I live 50 feet from mei lai wah. tonight i was walking my dog and saw the most horrible sight one can behold. yes, mei lai wah's windows were decorated not with delectable sesame rice balls, but two of those fluorescent DOH stickers, dated April 14...my mother is addicted to those rice balls. what am i to tell her on mother's day when she's expecting a FedEx package of 'em in Chicago?...damn the DOH, damn them to hell!" A Yelp thread posted two days ago echoes the sentiment, and posters worry that this might be the end for Mei Lai Wah. NB: The restaurant was recently listed as having one of the best breakfasts in America by Details magazine, however a major part of the charm was the dinginess (and the char siu bao).

Of particular interest to my work, aside from the increase in false FBI tips after September 11th, was the plethora of U.S. flags painting the social landscape. News, businesses, homes, cars, children. I had never seen anything like it. It reminded me of the Nazi flag forced on the Von Trapp family in The Sound of Music. There, the flag meant a militant pledge of allegiance to the Motherland. To risk not displaying it could have led to imprisonment or even death. Here, the flag embodied the blood of the Passover lamb, marking the door posts of U.S. society. To not display it might have risked a visit from the Angel of Death, or in my case, the FBI."

A Thank You should also go to the Tipster who told me that this Rail Replacement would be happening for 3 nights this week and that something different would be on it, and this was the best I could do in the dark, but still not that bad considering the conditions I had to work with, and besides I've actually done worse night shots right?

The new Nokia smartphone is claimed to be designed for emerging markets and is said to arrive sometime in March.
