I recently came across the FJÄLLRÄVEN totepacks (which I'm sure they've probably been around for a while..I just don't keep up with stuff like that). I thought they looked good, seemed sturdy and had a simple tall boxy design....but not for $100ish!!
I call myself trying to make one similar for me but it turned out extremely small. I don't know how the heck I was measuring and why I thought it fit me when it looked more like a pouch in the end...GEEZ!
Instead of wasting fabric and throwing it in the trash, I sorta kinda almost tried to fix it to fit my 6yr old but even that was a BUST...so the end result turned into a totepack for a smaller toddler. I started doubting myself asking "AM I REALLY THAT BAD AT MEASURING???"
Anyway, since the FJÄLLRÄVEN totepacks were just plain solid colors (at least I didn't see any super fun and cool prints), I wanted to use super cute prints for the exterior instead of going all plain. I then decided to use Oly*Fun fabric as the interior because first, I didn't want to waste good fabric for the inside of the bag. Secondly, I wanted to try it and third, it's really inexpensive. I fell in love with it!! It's easy to sew, doesn't fray, strong and durable and water-resistant. OH YEAH!
In the end, I came up with what you see here: a simple tote bag/lunch tote/backpack thingy bag...LOL
....AND Instead of the old boxy bag look, I decided to wing it and make the envelope bottom which I love. So there you have it: "The original adult-sized totepack that went horribly wrong that turned into a cute totepack for a toddler by mistake". huh??? AKA The Tiny-Tot TotePack. :-)

Tiny in it's bloom this native throws off a blossom that is about 1/8 inch across in the spring. I found this little one on the swampy edges of a state preserve in Crystal River. And a little bokeh thrown in to boot :)
Tiny woodland daffodil. These are extremely difficult to photograph well because they are so small and their trumpets are so long and narrow

Tiny little Michaelmas Daisies, seen in Nottingham University Park's Millennium Garden - perhaps Aster lateriflorus (Symphotrichum lateriflorum).
This really looks like a tiny lemon, but it's not much bigger than my thumbnail.

Traded some dumpster art supplies for these tiny postcard books at a sustainable city crafty swap meet. Mostly un-mailed. Too tiny to mail alone nowadays.
Front right side is Atlantic City - N.J. - World's Play Ground. Black and white photos of the beach and boardwalk and hotels. 2.5" x 3.5" Maybe mailed in the 1950's.

The bed reminds me of the canopy bed I had when I was little, but not so crazy about the fru fru bedding...maybe a future project?
My little gnome who traveled all the way from Boston. I take him out every once in a while to catch some rays, but most of the time he is inside chilling keeping Jelly Do (my other gnome) company.
