Perfect timing!! Aielo de malferit 2006 summer festivals (using a night setting). I didn’t have my tripod with me and it was very difficult to hold the camera still for several seconds when the cannon went off, so it ended up a bit out of focus.

I'd love to say I travelled somewhere exotic to take this photo, but I looked out my balcony, saw the setting sun and then darted to grab my camera. I took a single shot. This is that shot.
I took a ton of pictures a week ago and I hadn't noticed this little gem. It was not intentional when I took it and came as a bit of a surprise. After a good laugh I thought I felt a need to share it with the world. Enjoy......
We got to La Tea about 10 minutes before it started to pour rain!! By the time we finished, it had stopped! Talk about good timing. ;-)
We got the groom there early, I remembered the rings, people laughed in the right places during my speech, and much alcohol was consumed.
All in all, a resounding success.
The 5th round of the 2013 Mullingar Road League 5KM Race, Fun Run, and Walk was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 30rd May 2013 at 20:00. This is 5th, and final, race in the 5 race series. This was a wonderful summers evening and was a perfect evening for running and a very fitting end to the most successful Road League season to date. Some competitors took a break this week as they had completed their 3 races. The race follows a completely traffic free course around the trails and paths of Belvedere House. The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 5 (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. There was a big crowd of just under 500 tonight but well over 750 people took part over the 5 nights in May.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 450 people took part in tonight's race with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: A perfect summer's evening.
Course: This is an undulating course with some good downhill sections near the lake but also some short sharp hill sections on the trails in the woodlands.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. The timing is right on par with my previous records: March 13, 2015, March 10, 2016, March 11, 2016 (which included 1 Whooping Crane), March 9, 2017, March 13, 2021, and today March 10, 2022. I was able to differentiate the groups by numbers and the time as they passed overhead. Total time observed was 2 hours and 15 minutes. (Orland Park, Cook County, Illinois USA) *Group 19
The sky was a pale, blue gray all day, as the Sandhill Cranes flew overhead at thousands of feet in the air. Viewers of this series may wonder, "Why so many shots of the silhouettes of cranes?" The answer to me is in the spectacle to behold, the balletic movements as they fly, everchanging patterns, and a symphony of sound!
