Jaisalmer (Inde) - J’ai croisé cet homme alors qu’il était dans un minuscule café indien d’une rue de Jaisalmer. C’est un paysan qui était en déplacement en ville avec deux amis. Je me suis installé à côté d’eux alors qu’ils devisaient avec animation. Ils ont accepté que je les photographie. J’ai fait deux photos. Un plan large avec les trois amis. Ils étaient raides comme des piquets, le regard fuyant. Et ce portrait plus serré. Quand je vois l’attitude gênée de ce Rajput, je crois que les trois amis n’avaient pas osé me dire non. En tout cas ils ne savaient pas quelle attitude adopter. Quand j’ai réalisé que cet homme n’était pas à l’aise, j’ai rangé mon appareil photo et je leur ai payé un thé. Ils se sont alors détendus.

Jaisalmer (India) - I met this man when he was in a tiny Indian cafe, down a street in Jaisalmer. He is a peasant who was traveling in town with two friends. I sat next to them as they chatted animatedly. They agreed to let me take their picture. I took two photos. A wide shot with the three friends who were stiff as stakes. And this tighter portrait. When I saw the embarrassed attitude of this Rajput, I believe that they had not dared to say no to me. In any case, they did not know what attitude to adopt. When I realized they weren't comfortable, I put my camera away and offered them some tea. They then relaxed.

Long-tailed Pea Blue Butterflies are naturally shy but this one actually LOOKED shy, don't you think ! /
Les Papillons Azuré Porte-queue sont naturellement timides mais celui-ci avait VRAIMENT l'air timide, vous ne trouvez pas ?
Le second Moyen-Duc sur la gauche du tronc est moins timide! Impossible de savoir qui est le mâle ou la femelle ?
The second Long-eared Owl on left of the tree trunk is less shy ! Impossible to know who is male or female ?
This shy Wall Brown Butterfly (Lasiommata megera) only stayed a very short time of this wilting Osteospermum flower, giving me no opportunity to look for a different angle or more suitable background. /
Cette timide Mégère n'est restee qu'un tres court instant sur cette Marguerite du Cap en train de faner, ne me laissant pas la possibilite de varier mon angle de prise de vue, ni l'arriere-plan, que j'aurais souhaite moins pale.

Un silenzio quasi assoluto, rotto appena dal suono sommesso delle scodelle impilate in fondo alla sala.
La strada non è deserta, semplicemente vuota di chiasso.
Un locale anonimo solo in apparenza, che continua a resistere nella notte per chi sa dove trovarlo. L'insegna sbiadita, le lanterne timide, la luce calda oltre il vetro: tutto suggerisce che quel luogo esiste fuori dal tempo, destinato a restare invisibile ai passanti frettolosi.

通りは人影がないわけではない。ただ、騒がしさがないだけ。
一見普通の店構え。しかし、夜の中で静かに灯り続けている。色あせた看板、遠慮がちな提灯、窓越しの温かい光。すべてが、急ぐ者たちには気づかれない、時の外側にある場所であることを語っている。
A silence nearly complete, broken only by the faint sound of bowls being stacked at the back of the room.
The street isn't empty — just quiet.
An unremarkable storefront at first glance, but still standing in the night for those who know it's there. The faded sign, the shy lanterns, the warm glow behind the glass — all hint at a place outside of time, meant to remain unnoticed by those in a hurry.

Un oiseau abondant mais timide qui vient passer l'hiver avec nous (sud du Québec).
A common but rather shy bird that spends the winter with us in southern Quebec.

As I was about to start the daily deadheading among the Gazanias, I spotted two Katydid nymphs on one flower. One jumped to another bloom and I captured this one. I was wondering which chewing insect was making holes in my flowers and got not one but two answers at once :) /
Comme je m'appretais a couper les fleurs mortes parmi les Gazanias, j'ai soudain repere deux bebes Sauterelles dans le coeur d'une fleur. La plus timide a saute dans un autre Gazania et j'ai photographie celle-ci. Je me demandais quel insecte grignoteur s'amusait a faire des trous dans les petales et n'ai pas eu une reponse mais deux a la fois :)

Nous sommes maintenant déménagés depuis plus d'une année et le nom de ma rue ici est Grand Pic. Nous sommes situés presqu'au sommet d'une montagne. La montagne derrière la maison en est une de bois franc et naturellement le domaine favori des pics de tous genres, sittelles et autres oiseaux, même des dindons sauvages, ce qui me stupéfie toujours. Elle n'a pas encore été développée et j'espère que ça va rester ainsi.
Voici donc un de mes nouveaux voisins qui est plutôt timide.

We have now been moved for over a year, and the name of my street here is Grand Pic, which is Pileated Woodpecker in French. We are located almost at the top of a mountain. The mountain behind the house is a hardwood one and naturally the favorite domain of woodpeckers of all kinds, nuthatches and other birds, even wild turkeys, which always amazes me. It has not yet been developed, and I hope it stays that way for a long time.
So here is one of my new neighbors who is rather shy at times.
Day 3 in Australia and 2 new Dragonflies visited my garden. What a joy ! Compared to my first Dragonfly visitors, the Fiery Skimmers, this species is quite petite and often shy, However, this one proved rather friendly and didn't try to fly away when I approached it with my camera but you can see that it kept an eye on me :) /
3eme jour en Australie et 2 nouvelles Libellules sont venues chasser dans mon jardin. Quelle joie pour moi ! Comparee a mes premieres visiteuses, les Fiery Skimmers, cette espece est beaucoup plus petite et souvent timide. Pourtant, celle-ci s'est averee plutot confiante et n'a pas fait mine de s'envoler a mon approche, munie de mon appareil photo. Vous pouvez remarquer, cependant, qu'elle gardait bien l'oeil sur moi :)
