The Norfolk County Council timetable case situated opposite Wellingham Road in the village of Tittleshall finally went completely out of date week ending 6th April 2019. Although, originally dated to commence from 22nd July 2007, some of the information was already incorrect, Peelings service 4 from Harpley to Fakenham having ceased operation on Thursday 27th August 2015.
As from week commencing 8th April 2019 the Tittleshall bus stops are served by Sanders services 23 Horningtoft - Norwich (W); 25 Fakenham - Dereham (TF) and West Norfolk Community Transport service 22 Colkirk - Harpley/Great Massingham for connection to/from King’s Lynn (T).
Timetable No. 27 and 'useful information' on the Central Ontario Railway, with services from Picton to Maynooth in Ontario.
Here we have another out of date Norfolk County Council timetable case, this time the example attached to the bus shelter situated adjacent to the Village Hall at Kettlestone near Fakenham. It is dated to commence from 10th April 2011 which is when Sanders Thursday only service 13 was introduced to replace facilities previously provided on Thursday & Saturday by a route variation of their service 46.
The timings displayed remained correct for over four years, in fact, right up until Thursday 3rd September 2015 when service 13 ran for the last time. From that date onward no buses have been scheduled to serve this stop, although all of the other timing points on the former service 13 route are currently still served by other Sanders services, including their 9 and 46.
With the region's road system rudimentary at best for many years, Loch Shiel was an important transport artery until the late 1960s.
Steamers operated on the loch between 1898 and 1953. From 1901 they connected the railhead at Glenfinnan with the lochside communities down to Acharacle. The vessel Clanranald (II) served from 1900 to 1953.
In 1953 David MacBrayne Ltd took over the service, introducing two motor vessels (Lochshiel and Lochailort).
The 1959-60 BR timetable indicates the boats took two hours to travel the length of the loch, once a day in each direction, carrying passengers and mails.
It all ended in 1967, with the completion of the A861 Kinlochmoidart-Lochailort road.

An old Piedmont timetable from 1986. This carrier later folded into what is now US Airways and actually still operates as US Airways Express.
The effective date of this small pocket timetable was November 15, 1919 (revised January 15, 1920). It predates the 1922 purchase of the SN by the Western Pacific Railroad. It measures approximately 2 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches when folded.
The Sacramento Northern Railroad was an electric interurban railway, originally connecting Chico in Northern California to the state capitol of Sacramento. WP purchased the SN in 1922, retaining the name Sacramento Northern Railroad. The Sacramento Northern Railway was created in 1925 as a new WP subsidiary.
In 1928, the San Francisco-Sacramento Railroad (formerly the Oakland, Antioch and Eastern Railway) was added as the Sacramento Northern's Southern Division or "South End". The combined high-speed main line stretched for 185 miles between San Francisco and Chico.

My local bus route as a child was the 176/177 service operated by United Counties using all manner of different vehicles but mostly VR's, Nationals and Olympians. Allocation was always random and in particular there was a regular National working on the 15.22 from Holme Court Avenue. On a quiet Saturday I would often pester my mum to give me the 30p for a return to town just so I could go and bash one of the Nationals, killing time at the library in the musty transport book section before catching another bus home from town again later on. This leaflet from March 1991 would have been one of the last to carry the Biggleswade number with the depot being downgraded to an outstation in September 1991.
The services were renumbered 171/172 in the mid 1990's.
Effective 28 Oct 2001 - 30 Mar 2002. Last time that both Crossair and Swissair names were shown on a printed paper timetable. After March 2002 SWISSAIR ceased to exist as the flag carrier of Switzerland. All remain operations moved to the new brand, SWISS INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES since then.

A remarkable survivor still in use at the time of the photograph in May 2003 was this London Transport wooden timetable case which was fixed to the wall of Tring Station building. Although I have passed this way subsequently I have not checked for it again but looking on Google Streetview it seems to have now disappeared - removed by Council workmen or more likely spirited away into an enthusiast's collection? Despite the poor picture quality (camera was on the blink) I thought it still worth sharing.
The timetable on the right is for the Helensburgh local service, which at this time ran between Ardencaple and Kirkmichael and was operated by Alexander Ironside who had taken over the service from Henry Brown & Son, having previously been a driver for them. Ironside later sold his business to Garelochhead Coach Services.
The left hand page is for the latter part of the Helensburgh to Garelochhead service of Henry Brown & Son, although titled as Brown's Red Bus Service, which was primarily every 15 minutes during the day during the week with every 30 minutes on a Sunday.
Another classic Norfolk County Council timetable, this one is at the main Market Place bus stop in Cawston.
It seems unforgivable that the case in this fairly large village has not been updated since 30th May 2010. The out of date display gives details of Eastons service 25 to Norwich which was withdrawn on 1st February 2014, but at that time was running to different timings to those shown; Sanders service 43, not the current Monday to Saturday operation, but the once a week Thursday only Fakenham Market day bus (now service 98) and Our Bus Monday and Thursday service 29 to Reepham and Wroxham. It seems that someone has at least attempted to cross out the incorrect timings, but currently no valid information is to hand.

And here we see a DAF DB250/East Lancs Myllennium wheezing into shot and waiting time whilst working outside it's college run on the 29 from Street. You can imagine the clattering and wheezing for yourself.
