Bus Éireann (Rosslare) SP16
Bus Éireann SP16 is noted here waiting time outside Busáras before picking up peak-time only Service 133X to Gorey- in this case the 1745 departure from the city. Parked here, whilst inconveniencing DublinBus’ from accessing their stop, the driver is able to see when his bay becomes free so that he can move inside the bus station itself.
Busáras is a terrible bus station for a multitude of reasons, and it really is a disgrace that it still exists in its current state today. Its unsuitability is particularly noticeable at this time on a Friday when the bus station is at its busiest as coaches do laps until a spot is free.
Bus Éireann’s early SPs may not have long left, with rumours of withdrawal and being put up for sale going around. They’re still fantastic coaches, but many are starting to show the effects of Bus Éireann’s largely poor maintenance and cleaning strategy. Even from this shot, SP16 is noted looking scruffy in parts - don’t ask about the mismatched horns, a feature of a number of SPs now!
As time is running out for the early SPs, it too may be running out for Bus Éireann as a whole...

It's pretty hectic these days with work finals and everything. But nearly over now, and hopefully I'll be able to catch up on Flickr where I haven't been to good lately.
I guess you could say that the two photos at this location are the closest I've come to portraying my own mood. Uncomfortable and in dire need of some moments to just chill out.
Anyways, I love the location that I've found for myself. It is almost right outside the door, and the low winter sun creates this beautiful light just as it brakes from behind the hillside.

I didn't notice the Rosa Parks signs above until I received my scans. This truck was actually being produced in the 1950's when Rosa Parks made history. I love these little surprises!

Today was probably the worst day I've had so far since I've been in Nagasaki. We had a short session today at Seido. We had only two classes, and the first one (Elementary 6) was AWFUL. Those kids were bad today. Just bad. They didn't listen, didn't pay attention, didn't say anything in English. Only one girl passed my quiz. Two girls were giving me some attitude. I wanted to smack them. Maybe next time.
The next class we had was 5th grade. They paid attention much better, but there is this one American girl in the class. She just appeared out of nowhere! She wasn't there last time, and oh my god, it is so hard to teach English when one of your students is a native speaker. Apparently she's only been in Japan for a little while, and she seems to be starved for conversation. She would not stop talking to me while I was trying to teach the other girls. The situation is so strange. I feel bad for her because she doesn't speak Japanese, and I feel bad for the other girls because she totally dominated the English lesson, which she doesn't need anyway.
Well, it was weird for everybody, so we got out of there as quickly as we could.
Then we had so much work to do at the office because we had to make this week's videos, which today included making props and figuring out how to use the recorder. Then I had to make cards for tomorrow's classes at Seido and laminate them. Plus, we had to plan English club before the students arrived which meant I couldn't finish the cards before the club. And during all of this Kumi and I worked together to write all of the baseball team members' names in katakana, which is a lot harder than you would think. One name was Olow. I don't know how to pronounce this in English, and we had to write it's Japanese pronunciation. Well, I hope it's right. I get the feeling they will be announcing them at the game using OUR pronunciations. No pressure.
Then, the kids were absolute monkeys at English club. I finally got home at 7:30 (12 hours after I left for work).
I'm beat.

This build started with the DDR machine in the left corner. It was part of a 3-in-one I created for an event my local LUG did at the Strong Museum of Play. I had aimed to create additional arcade themed machines to add to it for a while now. The actual arcade was based off of memories of the local mall arcade from my childhood. The skee ball machine was my favorite to do work on and probably had the most revisions to complete.
This was taken just south of Clearwater Beach but North of Sand Key. In fact, the jetty you can see in the distance is Sand Key State Park. It's all in Clearwater, Florida. This was taken after sunset, and was just over a 3 minute exposure.
Some time ago we took a photograph of a church at sunset. We later worked on it with unusual editing techniques. Working with channels in LAB mode in Photoshop by mixing them in different modes and with different filters can produce striking effects as a result of complex editing techniques (See large)

An F-16 Fighting Falcon approaches a KC-135 Stratotanker for refueling during Red Flag 14-2 March 13, 2014, over the Nevada Test and Training Range. During Red Flag, mid-air refueling allowed aircraft to save time and quickly get back into the fight without having to return to the ground to refuel.
