I've been away for a while doing boring things like decorating, home repairs and gardening but now I'm back. Just in time for the bluebells though this is a library shot taken last April in Dockey Wood, Bucks.

The same Greater Butterfly-orchid (Platanthera chlorantha) taken this Sunday (left) and week ago (right). The white-greenish inflorescence of these attractive and relatively tall orchids looks spectacular above and within green grasses. Yet, when not in bloom, they are inconspicuous and well blended with surrounded grassland.
Each flower when fully opened resembles a flying butterfly that gives this orchid its common name. This resemblance can be seen from the image taken few years ago. (www.flickr.com/photos/sergeysmirnov/7374490276/). The genus name ‘Platanthera’ means in Greek ‘broad anthers’ with reference to its broadly spaced pollinia, and epithet ‘chloranta’ means ‘green-flowered’. Martin Down NNR, Hampshire, England, UK.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

A very late entry for the Smile on Saturday theme of capture the time. Sorry it is not the most creative of shots but ran out of time and ideas!
I did a time lapse video at this location - check it out - CLICK HERE
Once again thank you very much for visits, favorite and comments. It's much appreciated.
"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way"
Around this time of year before the pandemic, my parents and I always used to travel to either Ottawa or Toronto but I'm limiting my travel to times and/or places that are warm enough to do outdoor dining only. After having Covid for 17 days in August and having complications due to my Anemia, I just don't want to take any additional chances. I am still fondly remembering the trips I took but I am also wondering how many years this is going to go on. I feel like traveling as one gets older is much more difficult and I am sad about the loss of time. Still, I think this pandemic is hardest on the young people in the world and I worry that they are going to grow up with all kinds of complications after having Covid again and again when the adults in their lives didn't take this seriously.
Either way, I am happy that I was able to come home to Rochester, NY and see my family again this year even if I miss Canada.

Dear future archaeologists, anthropologists, or historians,
I hope by the time you uncover this Time Capsule, a global swift action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions was implemented and that your global average temperature is only raised by 1.8°F (1°C), instead of the scary 7.2°F (4°C).
I hope your sunset view at Sunset View Overlook at Black Canyon of the Gunnison is as beautiful as mine!
Yours truly,
The Time Encapsulator
PS: No need to look up the word "encapsulator", it only exists in my very own dictionary!
PPS: It's not my globe and I was so tempted to re-position it but doing that would be rude to the owner.

I read the 7DWF Crazy Tuesday Theme: "Time to Share".
And I thought it's time to share our two new cats ;-))
So .......this is "Dubh", which means "black" in old Irish, (correct me if I'm wrong, found it on the internet ). Luckily he is (already) taller, but it's still hard to see who is who ;-))
Here you can see his sister 'Lady'.

The little burrowing owlet had been up in the pine tree for some time when he finally decided it is time to go. They truly seemed to be enjoying their new found wings and did not waste much time in trying them out. Soon our little friends will be completely on their own.
Wishing you a grew day today and a very blessed one.
