My husband built this birdhouse back in Alaska to specific sizes for swallows. Chickadees used it two years in a row. It stood high on a metal pole away from interlopers.
Then we moved here, birdhouse included, and finally, tree swallows! Sounds like quite a few hungry ones inside.

This one could feed us all..;) It's at the entrance to a park in Port Aransas, Texas. The sky was a mess to clean up. My top tip of the day, when shooting at the coast keep cleaning your lens..:) I hope I remember the next time I'm down there.

The little burrowing owlet had been resting on the post when suddenly it was time for him to leave. You never know what will happen next so you really have to keep your attention on them at all times. Love them and soon they will be leaving home and beginning a new life on their own. Hopefully we will seen them again next year !!!!

The Dymocks Building, aka 'The Block', was conceived by architect F.H.B. Wilton in the 'Interwar Commercial Palazzo Style'. It was to house the 'less elite' or 'bazaar' style of retailing, with specialty businesses offering a wide range of more unusual goods and services. At street-level it was the home for the bookshop which has developed into the iconic modern Dymocks Bookstore, Sydney's premier bookstore. See:
