Down in front, giving this grass a try as a tidy edging for the pebbly patio. It's called Dwarf Variegated Maiden Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Dixieland") from Monrovia. We'll see how it fills in.

Seen at the Stokesley car show

Evening on the Kamo-gawa. We enjoyed a picnic dinner, with beer, sitting on a wall overlooking the river. Students were enjoying their last night of freedom before heading back to uni.

The 2010 Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Tidy Schools in the Community Awards took place in County Hall, Dún Laoghaire today, where the much-coveted award for Tidy School of the Year 2010 went to Mount Anville Primary School, Stillorgan.

The school’s hard work was clearly illustrated by the pride taken in the maintenance of the school grounds and their proactive approach to environmental issues affecting their school and the environment around them. Particular attention was given to the local wildlife with the children growing nectar and wildflower meadows, maintaining a native tree corridor and providing special homes for bees and hedgehogs.
