Moss Carder Bee - Bombus muscorum - probably worker
A relaxed gymnastic stance , hanging from the forelegs only, on Borage - Borago officinalis - Starflower.
A paté of pollen is adhered to the hind tibia.
The Moss Carder Bumble is a common bee here, though uncommon on a greatly reduced 20th C range in the UK. found in open flower-rich grasslands where it shows a strong preference for clover, knapweed, red bartsia and similar flower species. The species is more frequent in the north and west, and is largely coastal in the south. Males, workers and queens are similar in appearance, ginger-brown all over with no clearly-delineated tail. The abdomen is usually paler than the thorax, and almost appears blonde in some specimens, often with a more intense colour on the second abdominal segment.
Queens, workers and males all have a vibrant ginger thorax and a pale ginger/cream abdomen which has a distinct yellow wash in fresh individuals. The hair is short, dense and appears velvety.
Males have whitish facial hairs.
Slightly larger than the other carder bumblebees, but is often indistinguishable from the Brown-banded Carder Bee. Some Scottish populations have black haired undersides.
Only three species (Common carder, Bombus pascuorum; Moss carder, Bombus muscorum; and Brown-banded carder) are all-ginger, and consequently the trio can be easily split off from other bumblebees.
Separating the three ginger carders can be considerably harder. The Moss carder bee has no black hairs on the abdomen (unlike the Common carder) and also has no black hairs on the thorax (Brown-banded carder bee has a thin scattering of black hairs around and above the wing bases).
Borage is not only a honey plant, but also one of the most famous ancient spices and a valuable herb. It is traditionally cultivated as a vegetable type and spice, but it is also grown for pharmaceutical purposes, from the oil extracted from its seeds often called “star flower oil” or “borage oil”.
From the descriptions of Dioscorides and Pliny the Elder, borage was probably the magical plant used to make a drink of oblivion mentioned in the Homer’s “Odyssey”. Borage has been used in different ways known from ancient times.
Apart from being used as one of the main honey plants in beekeeping, borage is also used in:
Medicine - - Its leaves and flowers have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and a tranquilising effect. It is also used as a diuretic and has a beneficial effect for stomach, kidney and rheumatic pains.
Cosmetics - - The plant is used as an ingredient of many skin rejuvenating lotions and creams.
Organic farming - - It is mainly used for soil fertilisation.
Experienced beekeepers point out that continual rain washed the nectar out of most blossoms, because they face upwards, so there was very little forage for pollinators. Borage is one of the few nectar-rich plants whose flowers hang down, and still feeds bees in rainy weather.

Stuifmeelkam en stuifmeelkorfje
De achterpoot van een werkbij heeft op de scheen (tibia) twee voorzieningen voor het verzamelen van stuifmeel:
op de rand van de scheen staan gebogen haren die een korfje (corbicula) vormen, en
op de top van de scheen zit ook nog een stevige kam.
De stuifmeelkam helpt (naast de andere haren op de achterpoten) mee om het stuifmeel de pollen uit de vacht te kammen. Nadat het stuifmeel dan met wat nectar een beetje nat is gemaakt wordt het als stuifmeelklompje in het stuifmeelkorfje opgeslagen. Zo'n stuifmeelklompje kan tot zo'n 10 milligram wegen.

Torta al vapor de azúcar morena
1. Agregue aproximadamente 300 g de agua tibia y 100 g de azúcar morena para hacer agua azucarada.
2. 400 g de harina de gluten mediana, dos huevos, 4 g de levadura en polvo. Batir los huevos y revolver ligeramente.

Brown sugar steamed cake
1. Add about 300g warm water and 100g brown sugar to make sugar water.
2. 400g medium gluten flour, two eggs, 4g yeast powder. Beat the eggs and stir slightly.
3. Pour the syrup into the flour and stir well. If it feels too thick, continue to add water until it becomes smooth and flowing.
4. Fermentation until bubbles appear, the volume becomes twice as large.
5. Brush the mold. Stir the batter slightly. Pour into the mold.
6.Put in to the pot with cold water, after the water boiling, steam for 30-35 minutes. Remove after cooling.

Brigitta Church (Vienna)
The Brigitta Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in the 20th District of Vienna Brigittenau on Brigittaplatz. The powerful religious building, one of the landmarks of the 20th District, is to Saint Bridget (or Birgitta), foundress of a Swedish woman Order, dedicated. The Swedish National Saint lived from 1303 to 1373.
History
In 1846, the Leopoldstadt district committee has unanimously reached the conclusion that in the Brigittenau an own parish should be established. Consequently, the Vienna Archbishop Cardinal Joseph Othmar Rauscher acquired for the construction of the associated church in 1867 from the Abbey of Klosterneuburg a lot. On 17 December of the same year, the Vienna City Council decided the erection of Brigitta church, in the construction of which from 1868 to 1874 was worked upon. On 30 May there was the final stone was laid, the next day, took place the consecration of the new church by Cardinal Rauscher. Again a day later, the parish of St. Brigitta was canonically established, whose southern boundary then formed the Gaußplatz, in the north the Brigittenauerspitz (vertex).
In view of the rapid population growth agreed in 1905 the mayor of Vienna, Karl Lueger, auxiliary bishop Marshall and government representatives to set up a makeshift church in Zwischenbrücken, which as an independent parish Zwischenbrücken was separated from St. Brigitta in 1906. A further reduction of the area of the parish area of St. Brigitta followed in 1939, when the Eucharistic Memorial Church, also a temporary church and forerunner of St. John of Capistrano, was elevated to the status of an own parish.

In 1972, Brigitta church was again severely damaged by an earthquake, in consequence of which the old parsonage had to be demolished. In the years 1973 and 1974 followed an exterior renovation of the church to repair the earthquake damages, in the same year was also its 100-year anniversary celebrated. The last reduction of the parish area of St. Brigitta was in 1978 with the establishment of the Pfarrexpositur (parish expositur) to Divine Redeemer carried out. Since then exist today's parish boundaries. In the years 1984 and 1985 the interior of the church has undergone a renovation.
Architecture and Equipment
The Brigitta church was built as a neo-Gothic brick building with twin towers designed by architect and cathedral master builder Friedrich von Schmidt, the construction management in the process held Richard Jordan.
The nave of the church, built with three naves without transept and six yokes is 60 m long, 20.5 m wide and 19m high. Unlike other Gothic churches in Vienna, the nave presents no cross vaults, but only crossways arranged arches. The pitched roof of the nave and the choir is covered with colored bricks. The portrait on the high altar is from Franz Hohenberger.
Look at the organ
The organ of Brigitta church, which consists of 2 manuals and pedal, 21 registers, was built by GF Steinmeyer & Co. for the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 and then transferred to St. Brigitta. The cone chests instrument has 21 stops on two manuals and pedal. The play and Registertrakturen (stop actions) are mechanical.

Also to see at the World Exhibition were the six bells of Brigitta church, which were raised in 1873 into the towers.
On 8 October 1986 a Brigitta statue of the artist Engelbert Häupl was erected in the church.
On the occasion of the beatification of Sr. Maria Restituta as a martyr on 21 June 1998 is now at the right side of the altar a portrait of the Blessed, receiving in this church as Helene Kafka the First Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation.
