I was skiing down a black and fell on ice... My right ski did not detach from the boot and as I rolled down the mountain, my tibia and fibula fractured since the lower part of my leg was staying in place while my upper body was rolling.

Both bones were compound (exposed outside the skin) fracture.

I was taken down the mountain by ski patrol and ambulanced to Vail Hospital.

the "knee walker"........a pretty decent mobility device although I wish they had an "off road" model =)

Leaf-footed bugs (family Coreidae) have a common name based on leaf-like expansions of their hind tibia, technically not their "feet", which are called tarsi, the leg end segments they actually walk on

The front tibia broaden to full width within the basal half producing an easy distinguishing feature, particularly when separating it from other very orange species like perpallidus and immarginatus.
