During the last days we had a lot of thunderstorms, but too few rain. This image was made at the ferry crossing the Danube near Mariaposching,

Thunderstorms at Sunset along SR 89 north of Flagstaff Arizona

A heavy thunderstorm past our house.. with some great lightning .

Finally an end to our incessant rain ! We managed a few peaks of sunshine as the storms finally moved out. This is a quick IR shot without a tripod because I was parked illegally. It's the only spot on which one can look across Burke Lake to the south.

Taken along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina. Where we were standing it was not raining, nor did we see any lightning, but the thunder was rolling across the mountains.

The developing thunderstorm provided needed rainfall to maintain healthy prairie grasses in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Taken near Burnet, Texas on April 13th, 2021. This system was responsible for very large hail in the nearby city of Llano.

Nerd talk for thunderstorm, and a substantial one here, producing golf-ball sized hail and presumably lots of lightning. These clouds are deceptively dynamic, building and moving at rates that can be picked up by shutter speeds of 1/30 of a second, and make for fun time-lapse videos.

A thunderstorm with shelf cloud and upward lightning approached from the south.

The sun was in the west and shining beautifully on this storm.

It started raining and blowing while the sun was still shining and the lightning was getting dangerously close.

I had to crouch down and hold the tripod. The effort was finally rewarded with this photo.

Gewitterfront über dem Zugersee

There was a big, countywide thunderstorm on the weather radar heading for Wichita so I went out the park to shoot the storm as it arrived. I had bad luck and the storm dwindled and the remnants passed to the west of me. But I did get this kind of unusual shot of the storm clouds and sunset.

a typical landscape scene of red orange earth, long grass and scattered Kameeldoring bome (Camel thorn trees) while the storm clouds gather at Mokala national park and a lone Red Hartebeest walks past...

Wanted to visit the bird sanctuary in Tipperne in Denmark today. Instead of birds I was able to watch an impressive thunderstorm coming up.

Thunderstorm, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

Severe thunderstorms with flash flood warnings were raging in the Front Range of Colorado on Sunday evening. We live 90-100 miles west of there but could see the cumulonimbus clouds very clearly. They were monsters!

Climbing out of Singapore aboard Cathay's 777-300 B-HNE... great job by the pilots navigating around the thunderstorms and it was a completely smooth flight all the way to Hong Kong
