Small but mighty little storm cell. It ran along just south of our property. I could actually hear it crashing hail and rain as it swept by! Taken with my cell phone as I am too lazy to stitch panos together.

summer thunderstorms were one of my favorite things about living in boston when i was younger. it doesn't happen much on the west coast so i had to document... :)
this is conor's birthday umbrella. if madeline were still around, she would be sitting under it meowing for company. she loved the rain...and once disappeared during a summer thunderstorm in boston! (she was one years old and very adventurous)
More of the various times of a massive thunderstorm we had, with a different camera. Ilford disposable camera, reloaded with Kentmere 100, Orange filter from the 1930's taped over lens. D-76 for 7.5 minutes at 68 f.

Thunderstorm in Vanalinn
I was in Estonia for the weekend as my friend was having his wedding there. After a night out at the nearby bar I went back to the hotel and the sky began to light up. Did not have my tripod with me and the window frame was quite wide (i.e. in the shot). So I put two water glasses on the window sill and the lens cap from the 14-24 under the other glass and the d700 charger under the other one and then the camera on top of the whole thing to get the window frame somewhat out of the picture.

original in comments. Original only had a slight increase of contrast. Definitely my favourite cloud shot. Look for faces in the upper clouds (one anyway).
In true Detroit fashion, the streetlight on the left is the only functioning one on the block, and its working is a new development.
