This crown shaped developing supercell raced across the Great Plains of Kansas, which developed into quite a monster, kicking out thousands of lightning bolts and large hail, we also managed to capture a stunning sunset with the Mammatus clouds from this storm that turned out to be one of the best sunsets I have ever witnessed.
If you would like to chase storms across America and learn how to capture images like these, we will be running a 10-day photography tour in June 2020, with www.weatherholidays.com This will be Tour 5 of the 2020 chase season starting in Denver.

After determining the on going thunderstorm and lightning was too severe to perform a photo run-by in, the choice was made to run the train for a second round trip between Bongards and Plato so the passengers could finish their meal and enjoy the live band on board. Here 261 navigates a torrential downpour as they depart Bongards westbound.

A photogenic shelf cloud, lightning, turbulent cloud motion, and the remnants of a sunset in the horizon. One of my favourite shots of 2018 storm chasing thus far. May 27th, 2018 near Wakeeney, Kansas.
Thunderstorm with mammatus clouds, western Texas Co., OK; look it up -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammatus_cloud
Unlike places in the Midwest and south central states that have late night thunderstorms, this occurrence over the western High Plains is relatively rare. This morning, widely scattered storms rolled through during dawn and was captured with my Reolink Security Camera. I thought the changing skies looked cool and was worth sharing.
This badly needed moisture was very much welcomed.

Spring thunderstorms bringing drama to the sky and fresh green foliage to the land. Also, can you spot the bison herd on the hillside? More on them later this week.
This was the last big lightning strike as the thunderstorm weakened. My actual f-stop was set at f/4 not f/11. Wish I had it at f/11 for this unexpected bright display.
Hello there..Yesterday I was visiting Stockholm,Sweden...There was a nice weather until afternoon a thunderstorm came...Fortunately thunderstorm was brief..I took several great pictures about it...

My first photo of a thunderstorm
Da ich in der Nacht sowieso nicht schlafen konnte habe ich die Gunst der Stunde genutzt und das erste Mal in meinem Leben versucht Blitze zu fotografieren. Fürs erste Mal gar nicht mal sooo schlecht :)
The first sequence is shot with a YI 4K action cam and the second with a Nikon d7100 in video mode. I waited all day for these storms to light up and they did just to my east.

A rather violent thunderstorm approaches Tsilivi Beach, on the Greek island of Zakynthos, while a couple of swimmers linger in the wind-flattened sea.
Added to the Cream of the Crop pool as "most interesting".
