This was a first for me. I've never seen such a sharp contrast of cloud colors. The green represents either large hail or heavy rains. However, radar verified that this particular storm was not severe and no hail was falling.

Severe Thunderstorm, 26-07-2021 in the evening in Dülmen, Germany

This storm, 32 miles to my north was at the end of a long line of severe thunderstorms that stretched into north central Nebraska. Very active convection for so late in the season.

A bit later in the day, this storm (complex) would generate an EF2 tornado: www.weather.gov/cys/Sept2019GoshenCountyTornado.

Impending thunderstorm ...

This is sort of a more ominous, less dramatic version of the other multi-lightning photo I took later that same night.

At this moment, lightning was occurring 13 miles way at the base of this dissipating storm. Sheer effectively blew the top off this convective cell killing it before it could develop any further.
