Three of the figures making up the 'Let the Dance Begin' piece of public art in Strabane, Co. Tyrone. At 5.5m tall, these five semi-abstract, stainless steel and bronze sculptures, affectionately known as 'The Tinnies', make up one of the largest pieces of public art in Ireland.

Created by Maurice Harron, the figures celebrate music and dance, two great unifying and highly popular art forms in the locality.

They are quite hard to photograph without including either the busy traffic heading towards Lifford in Co. Donegal, or a retail park on the Strabane side.

These kids still enjoy the moment in the beach despite the drizzle.

The Virginia Beach Historic Preservation Commission dedicated a state highway marker to commemorate the Meeting of Three Commanders on Wednesday.

The marker was placed close to Lynnhaven Colony Park on Shore Drive near where the meeting is believed to have taken place. The marker dedication ceremony will be held at the park shelter, 3125 Shore Drive.

Gen. André Lanata, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation of NATO Allied Command Transformation was the main speaker at the dedication ceremony. He is a French Air Force officer. Gen. Lanata will be joined by Virginia Beach Mayor Robert M. "Bobby" Dyer on the program.

The Meeting of Three Commanders occurred Sept. 18, 1781 between Gen. George Washington, commander-in-chief of the combined American and French armies, the Comte de Rochambeau, commander of the French expeditionary army, and Admiral François Joseph Paul de Grasse, commander of a large French fleet of warships. These commanders met aboard de Grasse's flagship on Lynnhaven Bay. It was here that the final strategies were devised that led to the stunning Franco-American victory at Yorktown.

The text for the marker was researched and developed by local historian Jorja Jean, who received a grant award from the Virginia Beach Historic Preservation Commission to fund the marker. The Virginia Board of Historic Resources approved the marker application at their June 2018 quarterly meeting. Virginia's historical marker program is the oldest such program in the nation.

The Virginia Beach Historic Preservation Commission is a City Council-appointed body that advises Council on issues related to the City's historic resources. The group seeks to preserve, protect and maintain the historic integrity of Virginia Beach and the former Princess Anne County through a program of advocacy and increased public awareness and involvement. The commission generally meets the first Wednesday evening of the month, except July and August, at 2101 Parks Ave., Suite 500. Please visit www.vbgov.com/historicpreservation for additional information about the Historic Preservation Commission.

The Three sisters are one of the most famous landmarks of the Blue Mountains. Legend has it in the Aboriginal Dream time to rival tribes were at war. One of the chiefs, fearing for his three daughters safety, magically turned them to stone, to protect them until the war was over. Unfortunately the chief was killed before he could undo the spell and his daughters remained trapped in stone forever.

This section of the great dividing range west of Sydney is known as the Blue Mountains and are one of the famous landscape views of Australia. They are named after the blue mist that gives the mountains it's hue. The mist rises from Millions of eucalyptus trees and hangs in the air, painting the mountains and sky alike. The Mountains are actually a series of canyons, the Plateau is around 1000m above sea level and over millions of years rivers carved great canyons into it. It was thought to be an inpenitrable barrier to the west., until finally traversed in 1813 by explorers Wentworth, Blaxland and Lawson. It is now home to many small outback towns but sees huge tourism from rockclimbers, canyoneers, hikers, horse and bike riders and those who just want to enjoy the view. It is flooded by tourists and Sydneysiders alike trying to escape the bussell of the city.

Anton Corbijn's (@antoncorbijn4real) favourite spot in London? As a long-time fan, that famous grainy Ian Curtis postcard glued to my teenager wall, I had to check it out. And had to laugh: despite all those shiny London photo spots Corbijn chose Three Colts Corner when asked by the @szmagazin in February: "...a railway crossing close to the lively Brick Lane. But now that London became so fancy I like this place more than ever: that charm of brick, graffiti and dog shit."

Another shot of the rare Bond 750 at Stratford on Avon. A friend had one of these and informed me of some long forgotten facts. Firstly you only required a motorbike licence. The body was Aluminium, the engine was the Villiers 250cc unit. This retained its kick start, so if the battery let you down you could open the bonnet and kick start it. No screen heaters, bit of problem in the cold weather. In those days you could buy a stick on heater from Halfords etc, which did little to help the battery, that's were the kick start comes in. There was also something strange about the gearbox. I THINK it had three or four forward gears. To get reverse you stopped the engine, and selected reverse, which gave you the same number of gears going backward. This should have been the original Bond film car, after a long ride in one of these you were left " Shaken and not stirred". Would love to hear more facts about this British classic, they did a good job in there day.

We met Dave's wife Frances last year and we noticed she was wearing a really cute photo necklace. Turns out she makes them herself. She gave us one of her business cards and I've been meaning to order one since. Well I finally got around to ordering one of her kits.

Very impressed. I'm not usually one to spend time making jewelry, but this was pretty fun. And of course, being that it's photo jewelry makes it that much cooler. I made these three for the girls. Left one for Jessie, middle one for Sydney and right one for Jane. They love em. Thanks Frances.
