Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster
(Red-bellied Grackle / Cacique candela)
The red-bellied grackle is endemic to Colombia where it is found in all three Andean ranges at altitudes of 800 to 2,400m (2,600 to 7,900ft) above sea level.
Its natural habitat is tropical forest, but the trees are increasingly being felled for timber and to make way for agriculture, and little virgin forest remains within its range.
H. pyrohypogaster was formerly classified as "endangered" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature but in 2012 the threat level was lowered to "vulnerable". This is on the basis that, although its forest habitat remains under pressure, it has been found at some new locations where it was not known before. The total population is now estimated to be in the range 2,500 to 9,999 individuals.

After three days in Amsterdam, we wanted to see the countryside of Holland. We found a nice excursion: Zannsee Schans, Volendam, the island of Marken, and a full afternoon at the fantastic Keukenhof park, which we wabsolutely wanted to see in the famous splendor of its tulips. I can already say that we were amazed.
Here we arrive at Zannsee Schanns, with a spectacular view. It's a small village with a lot of preserved vintage mills.

Trois moulins

The mother bird feeds her three hungry babies. This nest has been re-used by a couple of robins for several years; each year they build a new deck on top of the old. This was built to be a bird feeder, but we're just as happy to have it be a bird house now.

I captured this image of three historical New York City bridges from One World Observatory, which is located on floors 100-102 of One World Trade Center. From left to right, the Williamsburg Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, and the Brooklyn Bridge each spans the East River; linking Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The Three Sisters in Canmore, the town’s most recognizable peaks and some of the most unique in Canadian Rockies. The Three Sisters are never getting old 😉. The names of the Three Sisters are individually known as Big Sister, Middle Sister, and Little Sister – or Faith, Hope, and Charity respectively. Went there twice, first time to check the location around sunset time, second time for sunrise, it was very dark in the early morning to walk there before sunrise… Head lights and bells were recommended. Several people arrived one after another, it was freezing cold, stayed for over two hours, from blue hour to golden hour… Closely contacted with three sisters. 😊
The title could be referring to the three arches there in this view, but it was really intended for the three people there that I left in the frame sitting on the rocks in the large arch opening taking in that pretty sunset view. They held pretty still for this 30 second exposure ... and I left them there not cloning them out to help show the scale of this impressive rock formations there in Utah.
