I noticed that a large group of ducks that stuck around all last winter in a nearby stream that seemed to not freeze over. This year it is frozen and I have noticed several skeins of ducks flying overhead--perhaps looking for open water. I caught these three yesterday morning when it was about -10F here in Maine, (Skein is a collective noun for ducks in flight--I had to look it up.)
Three young Texans who think they are the Cat's Meow before the ancient term became popular. Each man has a partially smoked cigarette in his hand. The man standing on the left with cane and uniform is a cadet in the Aggie Corps of cadets at Texas A&M college (now University) his cap bears the infantry bugle and the lettering A&M. The photo was taken around 1896. August to be precise. I know that because that date is written in old ink on the reverse. All three men are identified also. I'll have to do some research!

Three Businessmen who brought their own lunch: Batman, Swanston and Hoddle. They are situated on the corner of Burke and Swanston Streets, Melbourne, Australia.

Description : Imagine if pioneers, Batman, Swanston and Hoddle could magically reappear on the streets of modern Melbourne. This is the humorous notion the artist have taken for this group. Three bronze statues looking in wonderment and astonishment at the development of the city they helped build.

The variety of NYPD vehicles kept amazing me. In addition to the regular patrol cars and vans, which also come in many shapes, they've got pickup trucks, heavy trucks and these small three wheelers.

Our first stop was Port Douglas where we had five wonderful days.
Port Douglas is a town in Far North Queensland, Australia, approximately 70 km (40 mi) north of Cairns. The town is named in honour of former Premier of Queensland, John Douglas. Port Douglas developed quickly based on the mining industry. Other parts of the area were established with timber cutting occurring in the area surrounding the Daintree River and with settlement starting to occur on lots around the Mossman River by 1880.
Previous names for the town included Terrigal, Island Point, Port Owen and Salisbury. The town is situated adjacent to two World Heritage areas, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Three Gossips rises from the desert as Entrada Sandstone figures that seem caught mid-conversation. It's notable for its resemblance to three figures engaged in conversation.
The beautiful setting where the 3 counties of Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire meet. If you are great at the game called Twister i'm sure you could get in all 3!!

The commonly told legend of the Three Sisters is that three sisters (Meehni', 'Wimlah' and Gunnedoo') lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. They fell in love with three men from a neighbouring tribe (the Nepean tribe), but marriage was forbidden by tribal law. The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the three sisters. A major tribal battle ensued, and the sisters were turned to stone by an elder to protect them, but he was killed in the fighting and no one else could turn them back. This legend is claimed to be an Indigenous Australian Dreamtime legend. - Wikipedia

Finally back home, after being away for roughly 4 months :)
On my last night in Poland i stopped at the Pieniny Mountains and visited the Three Crowns (Trzy Korony) massif - a superb region in the southern part of the country. Since the weather didn't cooperate at sunset, i returned to the cabin i was accommodated at and attempted a star-trail shot over the towering peaks. This is was resulted an hour later.

These are three of Evie's six kittens that we had in foster care. You can see Evie in the background at the left edge of the photograph. They have all since been adopted.
I have a series of images taken on burst mode of a dance demonstration at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston last fall. I love the sense of movement in them but I haven't been able to decide what to do with them - decided tonight to see what compositing some of them would look like. This one is made up of three images of the same dancer moving through a step sequence - done in PSE9.
I've never tried this before so any input on maximizing the layer editing would be most welcome.
