I didn't like the colour version. And I didn't like the B&W version. So this is a fusion of both. And I'm not really sure if I like that either. Give me a red tractor any day.
I had decided the night before that I would go for a quick walk with the dog early in the morning before there was any risk of my wife being let out of hospital. The weather forecast told me it might be bright early in the morning. And it was, but the snow was a complete surprise, as it must have been for the council too. For they hadn't bothered to grit the roads and I was glad my intended destination didn't mean I had to go all the way over the top to Buxton. So it was a surprise to find a thin covering of snow down at the Three Shire Heads waterfalls and pack horse bridges. And then it was another surprise once I had climbed back out from the valley to get a message from my wife saying she was being let out of hospital. Two nice surprises in one day!

If you go: it's almost 30 miles from the nearest parking lot.
wow, this week seemed to go on for years.
i had monday off but i swear the week was sixty days long. each day i looked at the clock about every two to three minutes and i just couldn't focus or concentrate on anything. i'm actually very glad the week is over and i had a fun weekend to conclude it, so at least there was some reward in suffering through, right?
eh, maybe next week will treat me better. or seem even longer since i don't have monday off, sigh.

Three apartment buildings (I assume) standing near KC's Kemper Arena (Hy-Vee Arena, whatever they call it now). I liked the way these buildings stood together, and while I was out taking other photos, I kept thinking about getting back to them to get a shot. Also, trying some new editing techniques, so we'll see how it all goes. I shoot raw, using a Nikon D3400, and edit in Lightroom (occasionally Photoshop and/or Nik Collection tools).
What looks like it might be some kind of modern art is actually completely random and natural erosion. These rock hoodoos or spires of this type and dimension are fairly common at Goblin Valley State Park, near Moab, Utah.

I will get back early spring time me thinks.
I went at the weekend when we had some mist & fog. I was hoping it had come as far down the valley but it hadn't.
