Each thread roll contains the length of 50,000 meters.

I've walked by this container of tatting thread hundreds of times, but it never seemed like a subject for photography until the sun shone on it yesterday.

I made this for my mom - the only doily pattern I've ever been able to successfully finish. it's from an old 80's crochet magazine.

I saw Chinese thread books online and fell in love. I was doing a zentangle project…and decided to combine the two. Origami and I are not the best of friends…yet…so I had to make SO many boxes to get what I wanted…and ended up with 3 books. The boxes open in different ways and are stacked on top of each other to hold thread, pattern pieces, small scissors, buttons…etc. SO much fun!

The fabric is buttermilk-yellow 28 count Jobelan, the thread is another oddment of space-dyed mercerised cotton - I'm not sure if it was from Leila Sutcliffe or Stef Francis, as I've had it for years. The finer undyed thread used for the four-sided stitch around the edges is just Gutermann's tacking cotton.

I was just playing with my 50mm, and turned it around.(Those six big threads are approximately 3mm)

Silk thread roti - the threads made of caramelised sugar and then eaten in a roti - is a desert created in Ayutthaya. A mix of Indian subcontinent and Thai cuisines, the dish here was made by a Muslm family living in Ayutthaya and I was told that it is typically sold in the street by Muslim vendors.

The colours can vary - the green sugarsilk is coloured by use of the pandan/pandanus leaf.

Lovely new silk fabric, embroidery ribbon and threads as well as a bit of pretty rayon varigated thread for my stash!

My favourite sewing thread.

macro shot ....6 sec .exp. at f8.....halogen spot light used for the backround....60mm f2.8 macro lens used on the canon 7D......."thread", not as smooth as it looks with the naked eye.......eh?

Can you tell that I'm thrilled? This is my 2009 Christmas present from my Matty.

Radiology is the branch or speciality of medicine that deals with the study and application of imaging technology like x-ray and radiation to diagnosing and treating disease. Originally it was the aspect of medical science dealing with the use of electromagnetic energy emitted by X-ray machines or other such radiation devices for the purpose of obtaining visual information as part of medical imaging. Radiology that involves use of x-ray is called roentgenology. The modern day radiological imaging is no longer limited to the use of x-rays, and now includes technology-intensive imaging with high frequency sound waves, magnetic fields, and radioactivity..

We designed this imminently usefull website for Sunset Radiology, focusing solely on using large text based menus and sparse imagery to create a easy to use and beautifull webservice / site for this California based company

We added time dependant graphics (visiting the site at a late time of day would change the colorscheme to a more sunset like settings) and used actual medical imagery from scans performed during the previous day as backdrops for the site.

Learned and also taught my daughter how to make friendship bracelets this weekend.

This one's a little scrappy but I'm pleased with it as a first attempt.

I gave this one to her so she could pass hers onto a friend.
