I got up the other night to pop some cut-off threads in the bin... thought, that must be some other dark thread on the kitchen tile floor... reached down to pick it up & it moved... a new baby gecko... what a surprise as it is the middle of winter here... he was very slow moving so I was able to get a couple of photos... with my new camera I was given for my birthday... it has a macro of 1 cm so I've been having some fun with that feature...
This is 2-3 ply cotton thread on a small thread bob & our gecko would of been about 1 1/2"/4cm, so will give you some idea of how small he really is...

We have to watch where we walk now until he gets some size on him...
This is not a native gecko to Australia but been imported as extra travellers with produce from O/S & they have become very prolific in our homes, here in S/E Queensland...
They make a funny squeaky sound, in summer more... lots of folks hate them for the deposits of little white poops but I think they are are a cute extra to our homes & we put up with the little poops here & there... we don't mind seeing then darting around the walls or floors... you have the familiar ones that you see often but like I say they are usual active in summer...
Can you tell that I'm thrilled? This is my 2009 Christmas present from my Matty.

Radiology is the branch or speciality of medicine that deals with the study and application of imaging technology like x-ray and radiation to diagnosing and treating disease. Originally it was the aspect of medical science dealing with the use of electromagnetic energy emitted by X-ray machines or other such radiation devices for the purpose of obtaining visual information as part of medical imaging. Radiology that involves use of x-ray is called roentgenology. The modern day radiological imaging is no longer limited to the use of x-rays, and now includes technology-intensive imaging with high frequency sound waves, magnetic fields, and radioactivity..
We designed this imminently usefull website for Sunset Radiology, focusing solely on using large text based menus and sparse imagery to create a easy to use and beautifull webservice / site for this California based company
We added time dependant graphics (visiting the site at a late time of day would change the colorscheme to a more sunset like settings) and used actual medical imagery from scans performed during the previous day as backdrops for the site.

This little guy caught my eye when I was walking up to my front door tonight. Next thing I knew I was swapping the wide angle for the macro and stepping into his parlor...
The colour of the day was pink, and the thread was extra-fortified with glass for better kite-wars! Manja is the glass-glue-colour-coated thread used to fly kites during Uttarayan on 14 January every year. After Diwali through Jan 14, the Dilli Darwaza and Kalupur areas are hot-spots for buying kites, tukkal (paper lanterns for night-time kite-flying), thread, spools and (firkee). Also available: specially ordered kites and thread for the die-hard. Uttarayan is one of the most fun times in Ahmedabad!
Some 35mm threaded through the gate. It's pin-registered. There's a motor just in front of the lens that rotates a cam that pushes the pins and pressure plate onto the film. You can see the top of light source assembly behind the gate.
The bumpy bit with thread wrappings 9on the right) was done way back in the first class .. The appliqué (stuffed a tiny bit) was done with a piece of cross stitched practice cotton.
French knots, ..you can also see some button hole lace stitch, stab stitching and chain stitch over to the right above the store bought rose trim....
you can see and feel the clear difference between makes in france, texture is fine and colors are realistic

The incredibly thin 'waist' on this wasp led to its name. Adults feed on flower nectar, but larvae are parasitic.

In honor of Thread the Needle Day, why not make this sweet little spool to help thread your sewing needle?

I bought this pine mini shelving kind of thing (it's probably got a proper name like Helga or Ivan!) from Ikea years ago, but never used it. But now I see why it's true purpose is - to hold reels of thread! ... perfect!
