Bought a tin of old thread and crochet cotton on wooden bobbin at an antique store on Saturday in Danville. Pretty cool. I'm going to use some of the thread as cores for corespun yarn.

Despite the small size of the needle, it is a weapon of liberation for many.
I find sewing a very graceful activity.
Nimble fingers creating patterns with threads or just putting two pieces of cloth together.
They movement looks beautiful.

You could also make them to put all those little things on your desk or all those clips and hairbands.

When you have finished sewing down the plastic pocket then sew on the binding. I used the same method I would use for putting binding on a quilt, but you could use bias binding or even just satin stitch around the edge of the fabric sandwhich - it's really up to you. Don't forget to sew on the ribbon which will tie the thread holder together when it's rolled up.
tons of fun stuff in here... bias tape, seam binding, ricrac, even a bias tape maker - came with the sewing machine & other stuff from the estate sale
I saw Chinese thread books online and fell in love. I was doing a zentangle project…and decided to combine the two. Origami and I are not the best of friends…yet…so I had to make SO many boxes to get what I wanted…and ended up with 3 books. The boxes open in different ways and are stacked on top of each other to hold thread, pattern pieces, small scissors, buttons…etc. SO much fun!
