It's not just me, it's any student at my school who cares about their classes. Wish all of us lots of luck with these next 2 weeks... time to talk in front of my class now! :-)
I've been wanting to make pretzels for a while (I blame smittenkitchen) and I thought I'd use my sourdough starter.
2/3 cup sourdough starter **
1 cup warm water
3 cups bread flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 T sugar (I’m not sure if this should have been IN the pretzels, but I put it in)
1 T olive oil
Water:
¼ cup baking soda
2T sugar
Topping:
1 large egg and 1 Tbsp (beaten)
Coarse or pretzel salt (I used Sea Salt)
Mix starter, water, oil, flours and salt. Adjust flour until you have a nice ball of dough (keep it soft though).
Knead until smooth. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover and set aside to rise in a warm place (at least an hour or until doubled).
Punch dough down, form into a big rectangle and begin cutting off bits to work with as individual pretzels. Roll the dough into strips and Knot. Cover and let rise for about 15 minutes (by the time you finish them the first ones should be ready)
Fill a large pot with 2 inches of water and bring to boil. Add baking soda and sugar. Reduce to simmer and then add pretzels 4-5 at a time. Boil for one minute on each side. Remove from the water and let drain on a rack.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them with the egg mixture and sprinkle with coarse salt (I also made some with cinnamon sugar)
Bake for 12-13 minutes at 450*.
**Sourdough Starter
2 cups all purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 envelope yeast
1/2 tsp salt if desired
2 cups warm water
mix and cover with cloth, set in a warm place and let sit 2-3 days until it ferments, stir mixture several times each day, ; every week or so add equal parts of flour and water.
do not use any metal to stir it.
I drew this piece up this winter using pen and ink. It features a coffee cup with a nice little winter scene floating on the surface. The scene includes a whimsical log cabin with smoke rolling out of the chimney, and and old truck on the side of the house. The cabin itself is surrounded in snow and pine trees and includes snow capped mountains in the back.

I thought you might like to see some more pictures from the Great Gorilla Run (London 2012) so have uploaded a few shots tonight. Hope you enjoy them - and why wasn't this race on the London Olympics?
Taken on the north bank towards the end of the race.

This one is of one of my colleagues at a recent dinner party. There were several people at the table at that time and they were just about to start dinner when she went into a deep thought right then just for a moment. I love capturing natural expressions :)
So....I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 and am finally sitting down to learn about it. I went out today and bought Scott Kelby's "Photoshope Elements 5 for Digital Photographers" and he has some great "recipes" for layers, correcting, etc. I am totally loving this book.
I feel like I am finally understanding how to use the program. My goal is to make the photo look like art - not like I "used Photoshop"...know what I mean? What's your honest opinion of this photo? Any suggestions on color, pattern, etc?
When all is said and done, you are part of me. That's the way it was meant to be. People are brought together for a reason, everything happens for a reason. I believe the reason that you and me were brought together was because we complete one another. We fill in each other's missing spots with love. And if someday God decides to tear us apart, I trust that there is a reason. Cause if there is a reason for love, there is a reason for life beyond it

I never thought I would change Liebe's mold, but I did! I felt in love with Dune since her release 'cause I saw Liebe on her, but at that time it didn't feel right to sell my Bee-A ._. Years passed and, once again, Dune tainted me with her pretty eyes and beautiful lips *3* After some thought I decided to change Liebe's mold and now I'm so happy! She's just perfect <3 Well, the poor girl still needs a body hahaha
I hope you like the new Liebe as much as I do ^_^
