This is it. It's finished. Over. Ended. Concluded. Finalized. Completed. Mission accomplished. The last entry for my 52 weeks project here on Flickr.
I'm uploading this image with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'm glad that it's over. No doubt about it. I know, all you 365ers out there will shake their heads in pity, but to me, a 52 weeks project was all I could muster and even that regularly stretched the limits of my spare time. As charged and ready I was in the beginning, as drained and empty I felt towards the end. I think I've simply grown tired of photographing myself.
But on the other hand, it was a highly educational journey. I've grown accustomed to my gear and to standard lighting techniques. I've sped up my workflow, learned a lot about how to use Photoshop and last, but not least, I realized what's important when standing in front of a camera. And the best thing about this project was definitely the overwhelming and unexpected response it caused. People kept telling me constantly how much they liked my work and how inspiring I am to them. Funny, since there are many of them I look up to myself. I would have never ever considered myself to be a source of inspiration for anyone. I just wanted to make people smile. A goal I hopefully achieved.
Some of you asked me what my plans are for 2012, hinting towards another 52 weeks project. I'm deeply sorry to disappoint you. But there will definitely not be another binding photo project like this in 2012. Will I keep creating pictures? Most certainly! Will I keep pushing myself to do it on a regular basis? I fear not. I actually will lie down my camera for a certain time for two reasons: First of all I want to gain back the feeling of wanting to pick it up, not having to. Secondly I will concentrate my creativity on another project, namely our local drama group. I've been given the opportunity to write, direct and act in our next stage play. Since I temporarily suspended the drama group due to my photo project in 2011, I want to get involved again and immerse myself into something completely different. This will take up most of the time of early 2012, ending around Easter. Enough time to regain a certain, photographic momentum I guess. After that, I want to get back into model photography, with the main focus on creative editing. I want to expand my horizon towards on-location photography and combining it with my gained knowledge. Yeah, that's pretty much my plan for the upcoming year. Plus all the expected unexpected stuff of course. And there will be one or another half-marathon to run, too.
Now that you fought your way through this lengthy text there's only one thing left for me to do. Thanking you all for your overwhelming, continuous support! It has been an incredible experience for me. A very special thanks goes out to Alper, Alana and Laura, who wrote me those lovely, flattering testimonies. I will stay faithful to this beloved Flickr community and stay in touch with all those of you I've come to know a little better. And watch out, I might sneak in another self-portrait from time to time. I just can't help it... :-)
Oh, and another thing. Due to popular request (from Alexander *g*) there will be a photo book with all my collected 52 weeks images, available shortly on blurb.com. The majority of the work is already done, so expect an announcement in the coming week.
In the meanwhile, I wish you all a Happy New Year 2012!

Camera info (silhouette shot): ISO 200, 28 mm, f/7,1, 1/200 Sek.
Strobist info (silhouette shot): One flagged LumoPro LP120 at 1/2 power zoomed to 28 mm from back left and right. The flashes were flagged towards the camera, so most of the light hit the white background which provided a nice and even backlight. Flashes were fired by Cactus V4s, camera was triggered by a Cactus V5.

having some time left I started to work on some older stuff. Like this shot. Two month ago I had a shooting with the beautiful S. We met in Berlin and started a one day road trip which was really funny. We laughed a lot and shot so many great stuff. I will show you some more of it. I´m still thinking of new looks for the upcoming stuff. Stay tuned! Part II is coming tomorrow ;)!

I´m still alive I just had no time to upload some stuff. Still have 3 more of the shooting with Chrissi.
If you don´t speak german , the title of the pic is named by a song called 'Schwerelos' (translated= weightless) by Lino Modica. A great german band. Just check them out! I am really into that song. It´s a great piece of art!

A beautiful sunday to everybody out there! I have some new stuff that I wanna show you. A little while ago, on a sunny saturday I met Sarah and we spent some hours together, walking through the city and making some photographs. It was so much fun and we look forward to our next shooting.

Hi Guys!
What´s up? Two weeks ago, I met my best friend and we decided to shoot very spontaneously after having a cocktail in a bar at the Alexanderplatz - Berlin. The light was very inspiring to me that evening and fortunately I had my camera with me. We had round about 25 minutes until the sun went down. I set up my camera quickly and we started our short session. I really like the results but decide on you own ;).

Estas son fotografias de los ensayos que tenia el Rey del Pop antes de morir donde se grabaron mas de 100 horas grabado por la promotora AEG Live con cámaras de alta definición y sonido digital. La idea era lanzar después un DVD tipo making of, Seria Increible ya que seria el concierto que nunca fue, Dejaria muchas interrogantes ya que muchos pensaban que el Rey no seria el mismo. Esto me deja aun mas triste al ver que el tenia pensado hacer canciones como smooth criminal que se ve en la foto de abajo a la derecha y The Way You Make Me Feel que esta a la izquierda. A mi entender creo que el era el unico artista que podias saber que cancion estaba cantado con simplemente ver una foto.

Hello Friends,
two weeks ago I had the pleasure to shoot with an upcoming musical actress. She needed some pictures for her portfolio. She knew what she wanted (an urban seeming location with a lot of green and some water in between) and I decided to show her the location. Blessedly she was happy with it and we started to shoot and walked around the area to find some more nice spots.
The first pic I want to show you is one of the last we took. I really like the perspective and the look of it. Really nice dress she worn.

Not quite what it might first seem. This poor old United Counties FS Lodekka wasn’t on service, but had broken-down in a lay-by just outside Northampton whilst being driven northward to the breaker's yards in South Yorkshire. In a final act of defiance, 676 sits stubbornly at the kerbside. Surrounded by the countryside it knows so well, it awaits the ugly wrecker truck that will drag the poor beast to its unpleasant end, amidst a sea of oily mud and twisted metal in a foreign and unwelcoming place.

first of all Part No2 for you. Which I haven´t told you yet: The friend I was helping out is called Magdalena. Well, I think you know her already. A couple years ago I had my first shooting with her on a roof top. It was a hot sunny summer day and it was so great! I really like to remember this day. If you don´t know the shooting, I´ll leave you a link below to one of my best shots! Check it out! And yeah, she (Magdalena) switched the sides and is now behind the camera.

Sometimes it´s time for some new. Some month ago a friend ask me if I could shoot her cousin who was pregnant that time. I never did that before but she liked my style of photography and to me it sounded very interesting. We met up two weeks later and took some pictures in my friends flat. Hi Friends,
New series is starting! I named it by a song cover of Disturbed´s Stricken by My Inner Wealth. You must check this out. It´s an amazing acoustic guitar sound.
As I said some days before I met up an old friend from school. We haven´t seen us for 9 years! She asked me if we could met up for a quick photo shooting. We decided to go to lake named Schlachtensee in Berlin. We decided to talk a walk around the lake searching for the best locations. I had some ideas in my mind and the location was perfect for it.
