This was a very bittersweet photo shoot for me. It was the last one I did in Anchorage, Alaska before moving back to the Lower 48 in February 2013. It was also hard knowing this might be the last time I would shoot with Alanna. I think our photographer/model relationship was jinxed from the beginning. After our first shoot we decided we loved shooting with each other; however, for personal reasons she left Alaska almost overnight. About a year later she came back to AK, just was I was packing out. What a bummer!
This shoot was pretty much totally unplanned. Alanna came to the house for some shots with her newborn daughter. After shooting, the daughter took a nap so we had a few minutes to shoot. Alanna is such a beautiful person - very sweet and photogenic. I hope the photography gods smile on us in the future!

This did have some stars coming out from the top but I forgot to photograph them. This was based on the partyware that the lady had brought although she did not want it jungle based. I would have done this different if I had free range but the lady was quite clear on what she wanted :0)

This is another one of the images from this weeks roll of film for the 52 challenge. I am really enjoying pushing to shoot something every week... but I hope to do alot more with portraiture and I would also like to find a lab in Columbus that will develop 120 film so I can do more with my 500c. Another thing on my list is to start developing my own black and white film...
Thanks for looking!

Am I in some prank TV show that you're all in on?
I took this Friday morning at 7:15. These signs are still on every single entrance to Union Station. I misstated in my testimony when I told Del. Norton that I believed they were painted on. They're actually just clear plastic that seems to be glued on. It should be a matter of 15 minutes to take them all down. And yet nearly 72 hours after Norton said she wanted them down, they're still there, still declaring Union Station private property.
I took a photo of the other signs yesterday, and yes, they're still up today, too.
For the record, I shot this in front of a security guard. He didn't stop me.
This is me, being tedfoo, in my own yuppy way. Once I find a red wall, I'm ALL over doing some portraits in front of it.
This was a classic old hotel on the North shore of Lake Thune. Kids were swimming from a small rock beach and the water didn't feel too cold. Very tempting.

This would be used in the darkroom. The time is set in the back. There is also a winder in the back to charge up the mechanism (spring). When you are in the darkroom you merely slide the front-mounted switch from 'STOP' to 'START'.
I have a hard time believing it will still be healthy once I cook it.... Yes, I have trouble equating delicious with healthy. And anyone who thinks their kitchen is too small to cook in had best think again....
Not shown - alphabet noodles. No reason we can't have whimsy with dinner.
This render is mostly for the looks, but also to demonstrate the height difference between the entrance gate and the entrance to the barracks. The height difference is 34 bricks

"Alright, you've probably at least heard about a type of rouge "Chicken Walker" by now. The good news is, if you can see this, it means you are still alive. The bad news is, well, pretty much everything else. If you have been feeling depressed lately, it is highly advised that you do not continue watching the program. Alright, so you probably have been wondering where the he** this beast came from. Stay tuned to find out. Just kidding, here you go. Several companies had been experimenting with self-controlled mechanical walkers. They were pretty much built the same way as human controlled, except these were controlled by an extremely high tech artificial "brain" that was designed to assess risks and act accordingly. During a test, the "brain" assessed that its creators were risks to it, and killed them all. Then it escaped. It was actually a police officer Dan Higgins that first came across it. He radioed in when he saw it moving towards him. As it moved closer, he pulled out a 9mm pistol on it, but stayed on the radio. The "brain" immediately assessed "risk" and blew him to bits with one of its six “smart" (automatically controlled, also called Fire and Forget) missiles. The radio was still on, but the officer was surely dead. The local police station immediately new it had a huge problem on their hand, one that they were by no means capable dealing with and immediately requested military assistance. Two Humvee jeeps were immediately dispatched, but both were quickly eliminated with its 37.64x12mm cannon. From there on, the "brain" considered all humans as a risk, and now kills everybody on sight. This concludes our, very solemn newscast for tonight. Our thought and prayers to everybody out there with dead our injured loved ones.

If this pullback is a little different than the final image, it's because THIS was my last shot and I started to EAT my lunch...

strobist sb800 sandwiched between a small 2mm (in front) and large 3mm white craft foam for main light. Hand held a second large 3mm craft foam for fill in front and below camera. Oh, I also set my White Balance for the exposure with my little tiny WB button on my Nikon D50., I didn't simply set it for 'flash' Flash fired with wireless ebay trigger.
