A favourite from my own collection: this is a hybride between my 2 loveaffairs; Lego and Thunderbirds. This shows I'm not crazy; even Lego loves the spaceage of Gerry Anderson! Why? Because in 1965 Tb was suddenly hot in the UK, on tv, in the shops, with boys&girls. Gerry was the only one who used the term '2065', a thousand years later then the actual days the lived back then. Lego used that popularity in this ad to underline you could make even spaceships with Lego. This is almost the only outing into space by Lego, until about 8 years later with their own range of NASA-stuff in blue&white.

This is my Favurite tree, growing in a filed behnd my home, it is very old and ha rotted holes in its trunk, but still keeps alive somehow

This compilation video shows a chase of ARR 4006 as it leads a freight train south toward Seward. Filming locations include Rainbow, Bird Point, and Moose Pass, AK. As seen in the video, this train departed Anchorage well before sunrise which, at this time of year, didn't occur until ~1000L, so the first two locations were shot before the sun came up over the Chugach Mountains.

The tide in the Turnagain Arm, home of some of the largest boretides in the world, is on its way out. Photos and video along the Turnagain always turn out better when there's more water than not, so I was lucky to at least have some water present!

The final location in Moose Pass is, to me, a little slice of heaven. I just wish this location saw more than one or two trains per week in the winter time. If there were more trains, I'd probably camp out here for days at a time! As it is though, you have to take what you can get.

Also, Chris Laskowski, *this* is why you need to bring C. Vision Productions up here!

This gentleman is making the flowers stand perfectly upright by running tiny wires down the middle of them. I guess that makes him an artist.

This depot in Jefferson, Ohio, was built by the New York Central and hosted passenger trains into the early 1960s, although those trains stopped here in the middle of the night. Contrary to appearances, the former Conrail boxcar visible here is not part of a freight train but is in the consist of the excursion train once hosted by the Ashtabula, Carson & Jefferson. This is a bit 'Postcardy' but this area of the grounds has recently been renovated and is in its first season and has suffered serious drought conditions. It will be interesting to observe as it matures.

This shouldn't be too difficult, but it is a car that was never sold here, and it's even rarer because it's an estate... Oh, and it's English.

Well done, it is indeed a Vauxhall FE Victor estate.

This week’s Throwback Thursday photos are from May 1, 1967 – a 4th alarm at Zerega Avenue and Lafayette Avenue in the Bronx (FD Box 44-2698).

This is my second year attending AX and this was just the best time I've ever had at a convention. I'm excited to share these images. So many incredibly talented cosplayers. It's really a sight to behold

When you are 55 years old and do not "date" and have never been married. folks "talk" about you - so I decided to give them old Military Guys something to talk about.

I don't know why folks need to be so ugly, but I am use to it. But, I do love these socks.

This is apparently the spot where Madonna was going to build her school for girls in Malawi before she got ripped off.

This is a photograph from start of the fourth annual running of the AON Mullingar Half Marathon which was held on Saturday 17th March 2019 (St. Patrick's Day Lá Fhéile Pádraig 2018) in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland at 10:30. This photographs have been taken at Millie Walsh's bridge on the old Dublin Road. Following on from the incredible success of the first three years of the race this year the total numbers participating rose from just under 600 in 2015, 900 in 2016, over 1200 in 2017 and yet again over 1200 this year. Proceeds raised by the AON Mullingar Half Marathon will go directly to T.E.A.M (Temporary Emergency Accommodation Midlands) finding safe & secure accommodation for homeless women and children. The roots of the successs of the event last year was the excellent organisation and a very flat and fast route. All of these characteristics were repeated this year except for the weather. This was a bitterly cold day with air temperatures struggling to get above 4C and a severe wind chill from an easterly breeze. Indeed the race could be described as a race of two halves in terms of weather. The first half participants had the strong, cold easterly wind at their faces. However, turning for home along the Royal Canal this became a very strong tailwind for 4 - 5 miles from around Flynn's Machinery/Junction 14 M4. Participants travelled from all over Ireland with a very large participation from runners around Mullingar and the midlands. The race has an AAI permit. The course reverted to its original route this year. Last year saw a small change to the course configuration when the race crossed the M4 Motorway at The Downs via a winding pedestrian footbridge. This was not included this year.

The race began on Pearse Street/Austin Friar's Street in the town and proceeds North East out of the town to the N52 Delvin/Dundalk road towards Lough Sheever. The course then follows beautiful rural country roads out to The Downs at the M4. The only significant hill or rise on the course occurs here at about 7 miles when runners cross a pedestrian footbridge over the M4 near Junction 14 Thomas Flynn and Sons The Downs. The race then joins the now local access route of the old N4 road and then joins the Royal Canal at Great Down. The remainder of the race follows the Royal Canal back westward to Mullingar town. The towpath on the Canal is perfectly flat and in excellent condition. Runners will notice how the level of the canal changes dramatically along the route - at points the canal is level with the towpath. In other places the canal is at least 3 meters lower than the canal path. However the path is perfectly flat and firm the whole way. The course then leaves the Royal Canal at the Ardmore Road/Millmount area of the town and finishes in the Mullingar Town Park on Austin Friar's Street beside the Annebrook Hotel. The park provides a very nice setting for the finish of the race and runners and their families can mix and congregate around the finish area and the hotel.

This chicken posed for a picture, usually chickens are always running around

This Home Depot was closed in 2008. One problem this Home Depot had was that it was built right next to the local Lowe's. So instead of people going and shopping at Home Depot people just continued to go to Lowe's which was not any farther. Big R moved into the space in 2010. Big R is a Tractor Supply like store.

This was gonna be a blog post but I realized almost all these items are no longer for sale. Hair from Little Bones.

this is how lego looks when you buy from the columbian cartel...

This attractive spider only allowed me a single frame before scampering away, but it was a good one. I like the soft light and colors and don't mind the diffraction at f/14 given the otherwise dreamy feel.

This logo is arguably among the most recognizable in the world. The jingle is pretty recognizable too. "Own a piece of the rock - Prudential."

This is a ride on the Mangyongdae roller coaster. This was my second ride. I needed to film this one.

This is an image taken on New Year’s Eve while waiting for the fireworks. This particular plane was one of the last few ones that took off in the last sunset of 2014.

Notice that the blue speckling pattern and the orange spots are the same on the yellow and black morphs of the female Tiger. The male has very little blue speckling on its dorsum.

This my lass, Emily. She's "sporting" a Gunn tartan mini kilt out on the playa of the Black Rock Desert.

This is the after picture. Two objects in the sky falling quickly enough to be captured as a blur. I had this setting on quick exposure, so not sure what this is about.

This week's RAW. the name of this stone is simbersite, a fossil from russia. it looks like someone drizzled gold over it. i decided to go with that idea and to solder 22kt gold bimetal to the edge to look like the gold was overflowing the edges of the bezel and pooling or puddling on the outside

This is what buses on the 16 route look like today. This picture also appears on my other Flickr account “Willesden Lane and surrounds GALLERIES” :- www.flickr.com/photos/willesdenandthelanes/ , which is more dedicated to local history, reminiscence of early times in my life and looking for photos taken in Kilburn in the 1940 – 1970s.

This is the view looking into the building seen in the previous three photos. I shot this from the doorway--I definitely did not feel like stepping inside, as in real life this looked a lot darker. Unquestionably the creepiest location I've ever photographed. View large on black.

This was a pinterest success! And the frosting was divine :)

This was my first shoot with Leidy - hopefully the first of many; we met through Model Mayhem and I knew within 0.23 seconds of meeting her it would a great shoot. Very creative, great attitude, sweet personality, and drop dead gorgeous too - wow - what else could a shooter ask for?

We shot in several locations inside and outside the chalet; I just wish I had more time to shoot with Leidy - she has a lot of cool ideas for future shoots so stay tuned!

This was part of the Great Alaskan Group Photo Shoots, at a very rustic chalet in Anchorage, Alaska on a very cold, snowy day in November 2011.

This time he was raising his trunk. Don't think he was impressed with us. Taken in Munnar, India.

This is a picture of my S-M-C Macro-Takumar f4 using a new (to me) Petri lens that I'm working on adapting to be used on my R7. The Petri mount is super weird and not very popular or common. This is my 3rd Petri lens.

I'm 3D printing the mount. So far, so good. But for this image I just held the lens up to the M42 to Canon RF adapter and shot it.

The lens itself looks interesting. I need to get this mount figured out first and then do some testing.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been to in my life! Of all the Disney resorts I have seen, this one is, far and away, the best of them all!

This bus was new to Stagecoach Fife as 53706 in 2010.

Seen here on the original Forth road bridge opened now to buses, taxis and cycles (cycles on the cycle path only).
