This came about from a lazy afternoon and a decision to try and build something out of my unsorted LEGO bucket (which is way larger than it should be).

Pretty happy with how it came out, even though the stripe is wrong.

I'm fortunate to live just a few minutes from spots like this. But the creative side of me wants to try new things, so this weekend we're off to Palm Springs and the Salton Sea to relax, unplug and visit locations we've never been to before. We're going on what is called a babymoon, our last vacation before having our baby, so we're going to lounge poolside, eat lots at the buffet, sleep in, drive around and generally be lazy Americans.

Have a great weekend.

This photo marks the launch of my own website where you can view and purchase all of my photographs! Thank you so much for all of your support! This photo was taken on my recent trip to Iceland in the capital city of Reykjavik.

Why this milestone?

Because it represents the presence of the Roman civilization which largely contributed to make what we are.

Two thousand years ago, the south of France was for Rome the start of an exceptional organization on this territory, which allied to that of Gaul, opened up immense lands to the cultivation of wheat among other things.

Photo taken with Sony ILCE-7M3 in 21: 9 format.

This was a super rare chance to see the original deco-esque paintings that Crowley created with artist Harris reflected his own dark weird take on the deck based around his self created magick religion Thoth. The kind of work you would never expect to see in Venice which is what made it so inspiring.

Last year the Hastings River flooded twice. It was two 50 year floods in one year. During each of these floods a lot of old trees and brush was washed down stream from the upper part of the Hastings from Mount SeaView.

Today most of it has been cleaned up, however, this old tree was caught among the mangroves as a reminder of the floods that took place.

Well winter has just about departed and still not a single shot of a Robin posted so i thought I better get this on line. On reflection it’s a little soft and the dark background is a little noisy....you will have to imagine its bird song

It’s not in any way relevant but I thought you would like to know that yesterday I pruned every rose bush in the garden over thirty of them and my back is aching a lot ....need to lie down

Not done yet.... but I'm going to chew on it for a while. I have a feeling it will end up looking much different than this in color and texture.

This is a full 360. I discovered something really interesting to me; if you center the beachscape 360 looking inward it turns the scene into what looks like an island! I love that. I did not have all the parts to this scene so had to do a little digital painting ;-) but its true to what it looked like on the day. There are a few little things to fix still.

The stats, and why it gave me a headache:

16 bit Working file is 104" x 24"

or 31220 x 7359 pixels

Somewhere around 33 Canon 5d files merged together here

file is 6.1GB and took 20 mins to save

Not sure it even makes sense on flickr. I can barely get a sense of it on my big monitor, but take a look at the large file to get a sense of it.

COFFEE IS LOVE.

Explored thanks :]

A feeling I've had many times before, the racing of your heart. A broken nights sleep. Dew on spiders webs, fog in the valleys. A sunrise. The first breath after a dive. I dont know where we are going, but I dont mind. Freshly baked muffins cooling on the rack. A vase for the flowers, my favourite dress. This is it. This is life and I am going to grab it with both hands.

This group of 3 Conair CV580's have been assigned to the British Columbia Forest Service air tanker base at Penticton. Only 4 of the type remain in the Conair fleet. The other one is assigned to Alaska and this is likely the last year for them before retirement. They served well in the role for over 20 years. Tanker 49 and 55 left on a practice mission but the fence got in my way when 55 took off.

i love that ear :)

This is one stretch of the bamboo forest, part of the Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls near Hana, Maui.

When the wind picks up, the bamboo sways and makes a fascinating sound.

These are my three boys! Charlie then Stadi and last but not least Kekla. I will be seeing them on Wednesday. Can't wait!

This one has US-spec headlights and side marker lights indicating 1968 model or later. Probably a 280SL model. Seen driving by on Tombstone Canyon (Main Street) in Bisbee, Arizona.

This rock is resting on the shores of Oahu, Hawaii. The north shore of the island is rocky, rugged and wind swept. Volcanic boulders (likely from an eruption) were scattered along the shoreline.

I cannot say enough how much I love this doll. She is so unique and so beautiful. True, her appeal is not universal, but she is so lusciously and perfectly goth that I can't take my eyes off her.

Also, can't say enough about the attention to detail on her. She is so thoughtfully designed, from head to toe, it reminds me of the wow factor of Voyages. The design team certainly lavished their time and money on this girl.

I am yet to see the silver variation of Legendary Agnes, but so far the best doll of the Legendary Convention 2020 is Wicked Narcissism (sorry, Nadja)

I went out to MONA yesterday to have a look at the On the Origin of Art exhibition. As always, too much to see, I didn’t give myself enough time and will have to go back... But this was fun. Dotty floors, walls, and ceilings, dotty inflatable ...things, mirrors.

This was a perfect example of over-preparation going wrong. I planned this camping trip in order to align everything to capture the Milky Way and some star trails for the first time. I picked a desert in Colombia pretty away from light pollution, reviewed thoroughly the ‘Plan it!’, the ‘Photographers ephemeris’ and weather apps to select my approximate camping site, and went on a new moon.

This part in Colombia is going through an unusual dry streak (‘El Niño’ phenomenon), which was confirmed by locals as soon as I arrived: The desert hadn’t seen a drop of rain in eight months! That guaranteed me a clear sky and perfect shooting conditions, right? Wrong… My photography gear was like a rain charm. At the moment my tripod touched the ground at the evening in preparation for the sunset, the clouds started to cover absolutely everything. And not only that, far in the horizon a nasty storm started to form, and the weather predictions changed rapidly and didn’t have promising news for the night. Since I (wrongfully) chose the camping site with rain far away from my mind, the tent was set on an area very prone to flooding (or at least get really muddy), so I had to pick my stuff and search for higher ground.

The storm went on with intermittent heavy rain, and obviously neither the stars nor the Milky Way appeared. When I had the chance I went outside the tent in the middle of the night and try some shots.

On the technical side, I’m still disappointed on how my camera is handling low light. The details are not acceptable at 100%, compared with I have seen in pictures at higher ISO. Perhaps it’s time to upgrade the lens. Besides, now I can live with grain. It can be nice. But the insanely amount of hot pixels is dreadful and a bummer during review (. I have never seen a case this worse, and I’m not sure if it’s normal for a 5 mins exposure 1.000 ISO for a D750 shouldn’t push its capabilities too far, right?) and if it’s worth to send my camera to service for this. The only way to save the images is converting them to B&W. If not, it will take me a lifetime to clone out all of them. Probably later I will be posting a color version to show what I’m talking about. Still, I loved how the clouds turned out and some of the vastness feeling. The negative space works well.

As always, comments, critiques and tips are welcome and will be highly appreciated.

weeping Japanese Red Maple. It was nothing but a little stick when I planted it about 9 years ago. Every year it get so beautiful in the late Autumn. But the color only last a day or two and the all the leaves just drop.

Most years I can not even get a photo of it. Well this year I was luck. I am thinking on get it made into a print through Flickr. I have a gotten a few from them and they have all come out just wonderful.

As a photographer, I am rarely without my cameras. There is usually always one within arm's reach. But this Monday, on my way to work, the morning fog revealed a rising sun – aligning beautifully over a nearby barn – provided an opportunity I didn't want to miss. Rather than changing to a wide-angle lens, I quickly grabbed my phone and snapped a series of shots.

This empty hemisphere is a project born around the abstract concept of connections.

A clear vision of how universal and compatible is the perception of not belonging of individuals who feel too hard the reality of a wrong world with their own Way.

The vision of an heavy world that slides repeatedly on itself.

A project with a thin wire that can reach everywhere and everybody who, wanderers of their own hemisphere, go on and stop, advance and adapt to their empty and darkness of times.

For everybody who still try to search the white dots in the holes of time for remembering the reason of recovering ourself.

Somewhere and far.

Like tiny white dots in the world, like the shield of the soul, like the understanding.

Like the cold morning meets the sun on the skin.

Like the shared silences.

Like hope.

Okay I need a little help...everytime I upload a picture to flickr it's as if the colours become almost completely muted upon upload. I just about always need to use Picnik to zest it back up again...then I struggle with 'have I over-zested?' (aka over-saturated, lol). What's going on here & how can I avoid needing to use Picnik to tweak what took me enough time as it is to process?

Edited to add: Thanks so much for your helping suggestions with my dilemma!

This lovely image of three Yellow-billed Oxpeckers perching on a Cape Buffalo was taken by Nelis Wolmarans on a recent South African tour. Ticks and other insects feasting on the host animal are removed by oxpeckers (a symbiotic relationship), although the overall merits of the oxpeckers behaviour is speculative as wounds on the animal are often kept open by the oxpeckers as they have a weak spot for blood (and in this instance only the oxpecker benefits!).

Nathaniel's dream is to get closer to God and to make sure his mom is happy.

Nathaniel is currently four years old and carrying wood with his two sisters down a dusty cart-road in an unmarked Amish village somewhere between Allegheny and Tionesta, Pennsylvania. In pauses between talking to me, he looks sideways at his older sisters, who peacefully nod towards him. I tell him that he looks big and strong and then I help him carry the wood to his parents' home, where he lives with his other nine brothers and sisters.

We took my dad for a walk in a park yesterday. It felt so good to be able to take him out and to see him with his eyes wide open, absorbing and observing what's around him. He is not able to talk, but I know from the look on his face that he had a great time.

So, we saw a group of ducks and this cutie caught my eyes. :)

I am catching up in visiting your streams. Things have been hectic here since my mom passed away. Please bear with me.

This is my new favorite spot:) I'm sorry if you're getting sick of it!

So, the family are - once again, in London to visit my wife's side of the family. We had a fantastic day today; the girls went for a spot of cream tea (what-what); while the boys went to HMS Belfast on the River Thames, next to London Bridge.

Visiting London also means more help from my father-in-law, with lots of photographic-advice, and use of his Pentax and macro lens! This image was taken early this morning - when any normal person ought to have been in bed! Haha!
