I've been tagged four times, so I shall see if I can come up with 16 things you may or may not know about me...
1) I've never met another person with my first name.
2) I eloped. (as a side note, our parents have never met)
3) I got married when I did (December 28th) to save money on our taxes.
4) I do a mean Karen Carpenter impersonation, but you may have to get me drunk to hear it.
5) I sing and write music with my husband, and have won several songwriting awards (and yet still toil in obscurity).
6) I nearly drowned on my only white river rafting trip when the boat capsized. I can't swim, but it wouldn't have helped if I could (I was stuck in a hydraulic, and was lucky enough that it finally spun me out instead of under/to the bottom one more time.)
7) I am obsessed with all things Bloomsbury.
8) I've been a runner for fourteen and a half years.
9) I've been a vegetarian for almost three and a half years. Before that we low-carbed for six years.
10) If I can't fall asleep, I listen to old recordings of Hall-of-Famer baseball announcer Ernie Harwell calling a couple of Detroit Tigers baseball games from the 2000 season on my iPod.
11) I used to write over 300 hand written letters a year.
12) My favorite movies are Frida, Carrington, and The Hunger.
13) I'm pretty sure I had salmonella poisoning two weeks ago, courtesy of a Peanut Butter Crunch Clif bar.
14) My favorite book is A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry.
15) I do not cry. I cry so infrequently that I can usually keep track of the last time I actually did cry. Right now we're at four years and counting, and my mom died in those four years, so you can tell that I just really ... don't.
16) I've seen Heart in concert 15 times.
Right .. So I was tagged by my friend Emmanuel (Photography by Emmanuel .. I still don't know how to do the link thing yet lol) to do the 16 things about me deal .. I have seen some really good ones on here and some give very personal and insightful facts .. I'm kind of shy with that but I'll try my best to make it good .. Even though if you've tracked me you know I've revealed almost everything under the sun lol
1) I used to have a pretty good singing voice until the age of 17 .. that's when I stopped singing in the choir and quit leading songs because I snuck and got a job ..
2) When my sister was a little baby she refused to come to me (around 1 I believe) so I told her that I was her dad and mom and after that she refused to come to anyone else except me lol
3) I haven't cooked a meal in QUITE a long time .. maybe 2 years? Not sure .. I eat out pretty much everyday ..
4) I have become quite a procrastinator the older I get .. It's really just being lazy .. But I work VERY WELL under pressure ..
5) If I love a song on a cd or album I will repeat it over and over and over and over and over and over again just like the many times I just typed the word over ..
6) I would love to shoot for a big magazine .. especially fashion editorials, or landscapes, and especially for food magazines ..
7) I'm a brain surgery survivor ..
8) I sometimes worry a lot .. like say if a loved one is traveling I can worry a gray hair in my head in a matter of 5 mins (lol well not 5 but close)
9) I'm adopted .. Sometimes want to find out who my birth parents are but I'm kind of afraid to .. but sometimes I wonder if I've ever seen them and never knew it .. or any brothers and sisters ...
10) I'm scared to watch scary movies and always will be ..
11) When I was a little boy my cousins tickled me so much that I had a studdering problem and my mom was really upset with them about it .. but it only lasted for a short period of time ..
12) I LOVE children and I'm good with them .. when my cousin was a baby I would take her to fashion show rehearsal while I babysat her and people would think she was my daughter and I lied and said yes .. she wound up thinking I was her parents too lol
13) I love sitting and talking with the elderly .. There's so much you can learn from them ..
14) LMAO When I was around 15 or so me and a friend of mine (Redonia) would pray to God to keep us short ... WTH was that about? I have no idea but I guess we got our wish because I'm only 5 10 lol
15) I just KNEW that I was grown when I turned 13 .. I used to say under my breath "I can't WAIT to get out of here and be on my own!!" but now I wish sometimes that I had the bill responsibliity of a 13 year old (no bills) lol
16) Ok so this was fun for me because sometmes I avoid tags like the plague .. but to finish this off I HATE getting emails that say "Forward this to 10 people in your email list" or "If you love God then you will forward this to X amount of people if you don't then you don't love God" .. I hate those!! lol

A series of stacked rocks is formally known as a “cairn” and in my part of the world they are normally found on hiking trails. The reason for them on trails is to help mark the trails for hikers. Outside of hiking they are usually used as landmarks.
That’s all fine and good.
My wife is a massage therapist and while I don’t know the first thing about massage, I am in charge of her online presence for her business. Over the years I have done tons of research that includes looking at countless other massage websites. One thing I’ve noticed is that somehow massage and stacked rocks (normally the smooth stones used for hot stone massage) go hand in hand. I have even used this photo on my wife’s Facebook page in the past.
What I’m curious about is the history between cairns and massage. How did someone decide that a cairn would be a good symbol to represent massage therapy? Any thoughts or comments?

so i've seen this 13 things all over flickr. i decided to give it a try. here it goes =]
1. i don't drink, smoke, or do any drugs. never have, never will. i don't do it to make a statement. to be honest, i just find it all disgusting.
2. i'm born and raised in new jersey, but really don't like it here. i can't stand the whole "guido" thing, it creeps me out. i'm somewhat of a beach bum and a southern belle at heart.
3. i can be really cynical and sarcastic, or a total sweetheart...it totally depends on who i'm with. it's really no judge of my mood either. there are a few people who get my sense of humor and i love them for it.
4. i'm obsessed with flannel shirts. i actually dress like somewhat of a hipster boy 90% of the time, but i'm a total girly girl. boy's clothes are just more comfy =].
5. i am really intimidated by the idea of art in general. i'll rarely show any of my work besides my photography to people.
6. i love to travel. it's all i really want to do with my life. right now, i'm an anthropology major because i thought i'd be able to travel with that but i'm not so sure now...i really just want to be on the travel channel.
7. i love the outdoors. i love roughing it. hiking, biking, canoeing...all of it makes me so happy. i just love being out in nature. i'd take the woods over a city anyday.
8. i can be pretty shy, especially in big groups. however, with my close friends, i'm a total diva.
9. i love to read. i'm absolutely obsessed with into the wild by jon krakauer and on the road by jack kerouac. those are the only books i read over and over again.
10. i totally belong in another era. probably the 50s or early 60s. i love the style, the music, the attitude, everything.
11. i'm a country music geek. i usually keep it to myself but it's definitely a favorite of mine, especially while i'm driving. however, i really listen to a bunch of different stuff. my ipod's shuffle is an explosion of tastes.
12. i can't stand complex poetry, novels, films, songs...anything i have to analyze for hours. i like simple fun stuff. i'm a smart girl, but i'd rather not waste my time interpreting crap.
13. i live for sunny days. if i could (and eventually i will) i would just lie on the beach everyday. it is for this reason i will forever envy matthew mcconaughey. damn, that boy has got it all figured out...
that was fun, heh. i'll probably do another one in the future...i like these =]
