Our beautiful moon today January 26.

19th December 2019:

It was still dark when I let Rufus and Izzy out this morning and there was the moon, so I got my camera and managed a couple of photos.

This was going to be my backup for today, as it looked as though it was going to be a far better day with the weather.

Huh, so much for that, the clouds came in and the wind increased, then it started to pour with rain. It has only just stopped.

Will catch up with you all tomorrow, I'm off to watch TV.

Sorry if I'm getting boring with these Moon Shots- I'm getting bored with them myself 😅 This is last night's near Full Moon looking South over the Swansea Valley.

This month's Supermoon aka The Worm Moon - a 97.2% Waning Gibbous Moon taken shortly after 4am

I took this photo of the Moon low on the horizon, as the light filtered through the trees.

The wind was blowing the tree branches back and forth, and I wanted to try and capture that movement.

So with a slow shutterspeed, and hand held, I wondered how it might look?

The overall effect was that it looked like the moon was melting?

So I woke up at 4:30 AM to photograph the Total Eclipse of the Moon this morning, here in London, England & firstly it appears I should have gotten up a tad earlier because by that time totality had almost been reached!!! The other problem was the hazy clouds, which weren't that much of a problem to begin with, but by the time totality hit, the moon completely clouded over!!! So that was that..:( Oh well, at least I managed to get something & at least I didn't have to spend thousands of pounds travelling to an area where totality was taking place, I only had to travel 10 feet into the back garden lol 😎😎😎😎

At 89% of full captured looking over the Swansea Valley half an hour before the fog descended.

Just after sunset on 29/11/2019, the crescent moon is visible and look carefully Venus is just right of centre and right on the right side of the image you can just see Jupiter.

February's Full moon is named the Snow Moon because historically it's always been the snowiest month in America. It's also traditionally referred to as the Hunger Moon, because hunting was very difficult in snowy conditions.

That Blue Moon in my heart...

Captured this morning looking SE over the Swansea Valley.

I missed the total lunar eclipse yesterday, so I went and found my own partial one today (airplane on approach to Reagan National Airport).

One of these days this shot will get onto Explore!
