My theme for my final project will be "dynamics of the city" (title may be changed) and I will document people. I will capture both the fast paced side of life as well as the time where people stop and enjoy the moment.
for this theme all you have to do is:
requirements:
make your doll a photographer for the night trying to catch a celebrity on camera! the celebrity should be a bratz doll as the celebrity, dont show the celebrity more than your model in the photo. she's still modeling, so WORK THAT CAMERA GIRLS! xD
Models will be traveling to HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA!
have fun! get creative with this theme! i dont want everyone's photo's to be the same with your model just taking a picture.
REMEMBER: show your model's face at ALL TIMES! :) dont let the celebrity out-model your model pleaseee!
Deadline: November 31st.
If anyone needs more time because of Thanksgiving or something please let me know before the deadline. Thanks :)
Are Speed Cameras Protecting Toronto?
Supervisor: Dr. Evan Cleave
Theme: Social/Transportation
Location: City of Toronto
The Vision Zero strategy, adopted by the City of Toronto, strategically reduces excessive motor vehicular speeds throughout the built environment by implementing Automatic Speeding Enforcement (ASE) systems. Doing this would allow the City of Toronto to mitigate and omit the associated negative speed-related results that have caused deaths and injuries. This poster analyzes the spatial distribution and impact of ASE cameras and speeding tickets across the City of Toronto using a 1 km² hexagonal tessellation. Socio-demographic and built environment data will also be integrated throughout the continuation of the project. Spatial and statistical methods such as Principal Components Analysis (PCA), K-means Clustering, and Local Moran’s I will be used to further assist in identifying the high-risk neighbourhood profiles, spatial patterns, and gaps in enforcement. The results are expected to reveal the areas with high risk but limited coverage of ASE enforcement, emphasizing the need for more equitable ASE implementation and deployment along with improvements in pedestrian infrastructure across the City of Toronto.
Theme : Street Photo
At the bustling entrance of Jonker Walk, life converges tourists stroll hand in hand, locals navigate on scooters, and the colors of heritage shophouses frame the energy of culture, commerce, and community in motion.

The Theme Building is a landmark structure at the Los Angeles International Airport within the Westchester neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles. It opened in 1961, and is an example of the Mid-Century modern influenced design school known as "Populuxe."
The distinctive white building resembles a flying saucer that has landed on its four legs.

Assignment: Participants got into groups and chose a movie everyone was familiar with, to base a themed restaurant around. They then brainstormed ideas for the decor, food, clothing, mood, target audience, etc.
James Bond themed afternoon tea at that old Knightsbridge institution, the Jumeirah Carlton hotel...
Someone at the Jumeirah decided that it’d be a good idea to time a Bond themed afternoon tea menu with the release of Spectre, the latest instalment in the James Bond franchise (long may it continue). We assume a lot of money went to MGM &/or Columbia in licensing fees, but the result was a very beautiful looking afternoon tea (and so we tip our hat to Jumeirah’s Exec Chef Simon Young…). Anyway, we got an invite to come down and try said menu, and so finally finding a place that my Mum would actually enjoy (you think it’d be easier to tempt your mother out with a free meal but it’s surprisingly hard…) I headed down - mother in tow.
I’ve been to the Jumeirah Carlton a few times now. The Terrace and The Rib Room are both pretty impressive - and considering the place has been in Knightsbridge of all places for longer than half a century, there must be something to it. For those unaware, the Jumeirah Carlton can be found just off of the lovely Sloane Street – one of the Capital’s most expensive and fashionable shopping areas. Like the surrounding area of Knightsbridge, the ambiance is one of old money and high society. If you’ve been to Knightsbridge, you’ll know what you’re getting yourself into. If you live in Knightbridge, you’re probably pretty familiar with Jumeirah already…
Afternoon tea takes place at Jumeirah’s ‘Chinoiserie’, a restaurant/lounge area very much decorated with Chinoiserie wallpaper and with lots of extremely comfortable sofas and chairs. It’s a bit like a giant front room, except with more Saudis and waiter service. It’s available from 6th October to 23rd November 2015, and is served daily from 15:00 to 18:00. Like James Bond? Like afternoon tea? Like fancy places? This was made for you...
