Taking further my theme of life and death I created this sculpture out of wood, crepe paper, paper mache and wire.
Azrael is supposed to be genderless but is often artistically represented as male. I decided to represent the angel as female because of the original sin.
I tried to make the angel beautiful looking as it would seduce people to come to her and death,
The angel comes out of the piece of wood and if you stand in front of it the skull mask looks straight at the viewer.
The piece stands at 150 x 200 cm
