Inspired by Flickr friend Dave and his recent purchase and posting of a motorbike teashirt... :)
www.flickr.com/photos/dave_kepcove/49372330027/in/datepos...
I had a look in my wardrobe and have realised I have 14 motorbike teashirts!
Four BSA ones (one I bought last week but only just noticed it is the same one Dave has!). One Triumph one with one other with a British theme and the rest have are all American themed apart from one that says Monte Carlo!
Cough! My excuse is that my graddaughter Bess always asks me (when ever we see her) if I wearing a motorbike teashirt.. So to make sure she is not disappointed I have bought a few..
One of my favs is the one from the tv series called Happy Days (1974-1984) featuring The Fonzie and his motorbike..
"It's a 1949 Triumph Trophy TR5 Scrambler Custom which is one of several bikes the Fonze used in the hit 1970s series set in the 1950s. The early Fonzie bikes were actually Harleys. There was a Knucklehead, Panhead and possibly a Sportster. However, Winkler could not ride and found the Harleys too heavy to handle"

Our pre-schooler, G.son spends his afternoons with me playing with all shapes of building toys...these are, "Imagability Wedgits". I have created my own little camera hog as he now asks me to "take a picture" of EVERY MASTERPIECE that he builds! I think he may have a future in engineering and structural art!

Despite the complex blending of spices and frag- rant roots that gives Balinese food its intriguingly different flavour, the typical Balinese kitchen is remarkably simple. The centrepiece of the kitchen generally a spartan, functional room is the wood fired stove topped by a blackened clay pot used to steam rice and leaf-wrapped food. In many modern households, this is joined by a gas cooker for boiling water and frying. Both stoves receive daily offerings of a few grains of rice, a flower and salt a gift to Brahma, the animistic god of fire.
Although all utensils were once made of clay, most cooks now use metal for cooking. Many people in the major towns also use electric rice cookers, but most agree that the traditional method for cooking rice is superior. After the rice has been well washed and soaked, it is partially boiled, then set in a woven steaming basket (kukusan) over a clay pot filled with boiling water. The conical kukusan is covered with a clay lid and the rice left to steam. Every so often, boiling water is scooped out of the clay pot and poured over the rice to keep it moist and prevent the grains from sticking together.
Bamboo is often used in the Balinese kitchen. A narrow bamboo tube is used to direct a puff of air into the fire, acting as a bellows. A split length of bamboo plaited so that it fans out is used as a scoop for lifting out and draining fried food, while bamboo handles with small coconut shells on the end make scoops or ladles.
Every Balinese kitchen has its coconut scraper, either a wooden board set with rows of sharp metal spikes or a sheet of thin alumunium with spikes punched out. Grated coconut is mixed into many dishes, or squeezed with water to make coconut milk.
Another essential item is the saucer like stone mortar (batu base) used for grinding dry spices, chillies, shallots and other seasonings. The Balinese mortar is shallow and the stone pestle has a handle carved at right angles to the head so that the action is one of grinding rather than pounding.
The chopping block used in the preparation of almost every meal is usually a cross section slice of a tree trunk, the wood strong enough to take the repeated blows of a sharp cleaver used to mince meat or fish to a paste, and for chopping and slicing various roots and vegetables.
The furniture in a Balinese kitchen is minimal; apart from the stove, a bench and a food cupboard, where the cooked food is stored during the day, there's usually a wide, low bamboo platform, used for sitting on while preparing foods. It also doubles as an eating area or a spare bed. Practicality is the theme of any Balinese kitchen.
The Kobra is a Zamperla flat ride based in Chessington World Of Adventures, a theme park in London. As with all rides of its type, riders sit in a motorcycle-like position in outward-facing seats at the edge of the circular ride platform. The ride model features an airtime hill (AKA camel back hump) in the middle of the track, and two steep slopes at either end. The platform spins and travels backwards and forwards along the track at moderate speed.
The Kobra features two large snake statues at either end of the track; giving the ride its name. Riders sit at the edge of a circular ride car, which spins along 90m of track at 43mph. The ride model includes a camel back hill in the centre of the track to give the car airtime as it travels over. The Kobra is only the second model of its type in Britain, after The Edge at Paulton's Park. The Kobra opened in the 2010 season in the new 'Wild Asia' land at Chessington.

Happy Anniversary my love Mahmuda Dewan. Alhumdulillah for everything.
[Getting inspirited from Russian photographer “Murad Osmann”… I, Md. Rahat Khan Amit from Bangladesh as an amateur photographer have started this project of capturing the beautiful sceneries around the world by hand in hand together with my wife. Here, in all the photos I've shown the back of my wife Dr. Mahmuda Dewan while she was holding my hand and lead me to the wonderful locations around the world. I've started my project while I was in a short vacation with my family in Singapore, Langkawi, Kualalampur, Pattaya and Bangkok from 27th November, 2015 to 6th December, 2015. And now in this album I've traveled Bhutan from 15th September’2016 to 22nd September’2016.
Hopefully this project will be continued inside Bangladesh and across the world.
The theme of this project is, "Love leads to the road of beauty".

At the "Future"-themed Kirby Derby on Saturday, I'm gonna march in the parade as a part of a post-apocalyptic posse.
Our leader is Suzy.
I'll wear this belt Rambo-style, like a sash, with a hardware-store machete on my back.
See notes for important items, here.
In Lincoln this chap was entertaining the Saturday shoppers with beautiful classical music. We stood and watched, listened and appreciated his talent. Then he changed his tune - I wasn't expecting this one.
Did this shoot at work of the marketing department. They were having fun with a 50's kinda theme that day and wanted me to capture the spirit. I am pretty happy with the results with the short time I had and all the space I had to light up.
Mimsy's Trailer Trash tattoo parlour, just the thing for a lady on the go ! Do you like her garden bits , pink flamingoes and Jim Bean cans and all not forgetting those pink boots ..

Borrowing from several themes, I thought it was time for me to delve deeper into a favorite subject; still life images from the late 1800's.
The themes that appeal to me include dark hand coated glass plate, Gothic, window light, distressed time worn materials, and a hint of Italian romanticism.

Alien Bees B800 with 3x4foot soft box set to it's lowest power setting, 5 or more feet from the subject at a rather oblique angle, and a single large white reflector opposite the flash to fill the shadows.

Lens set to wide open for selective focus. I wanted to emulate early optical needs for gathering as much light as possible at the widest aperture available at the time. With these wee-DSLR's, depth of field tends to be too great. So this was something of an experiment to see what might be possible.

Heavy use of vignetting and texture layers in most cases. Also heavy use of different BW tints. Some from gum over palladium, others from platinum, and yet other tints taken from old early 1900's portraiture photos. All these were balanced and blended to taste.
Corriganville Movie Ranch (theme park), then The Lone Ranger Ranch, then Bob Hope bought it and built houses there.
This Weeks 52 Weeks Theme is "Waiting"..... of which I did quite a bit this week :-)
After a wonderful 3 week holiday in South Africa it was time to hit the long road home - 36 hours from when I left Johannesburg to eventually arriving back to my home in New Zealand...with a 18 hour transit stop in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia....
The main photo is the "waiting area" at the gates in Terminal C of the Kuala Lumpur airport.
Below is the international arrivals area at Oliver Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, and below that is some fantastic "waiting" seats at KL airport (with the impressive rainforest in the background)
I love the Aiport in KL - it is one of the few airports where I do not actually mind having to spend time in between flights, as they have a lot of the "little things" that travellers need ......Free WiFi, decent eateries, great shopping, very nice Transit Hotel, Transit Lounge for $50 for 2 hours etc....
