This is the theme park on the Sunny Gold Coast ( Dreamworld ) and had plenty of rides for the young and old.

Taken at Dreamworld, Gold Coast, Queensland in 2012.

I've been wanting to do a winter theme/snowflake cake for awhile now...finally had an excuse to! Took this cake up to my friend's house on Christmas Eve for a visit. A special thanks to Christine (abbietabbie) for giving me the ok to use her idea of the snowflake tree - www.flickr.com/photos/abbietabbie/3027296110/. Next time i will have to use her advice on using a raw spaghetti down the middle for support! LOL...mine came out a little wobbly but one the royal icing glue dried it did ok. This is a 3 layer vanilla cake with raspberry filling, butter cream frosting, fondant draped *snow* over the top and fondant snowflakes and tree with silver dragees. Sprinkled *snow* at base of tree is the Wilton white sparkle flakes. Also used those to add sparkle to the snowflakes.

Project 52

Week 41/52

Week 41's theme is "Think BIG"

From: Catcher In My Eye :)

Taking a BIG Leap of Faith!

Moving from the boot heel of Italy to moving to North Texas was a BIG move!

How BIG you ask?

When you are an eight year old girl, that has lived in Italy your whole life and gone to school since you were three years old, had the same circle of friends, gone to the beach with family & friends every Summer, attended family get togethers with your Daddy's family as far back as you can remember, eaten Italian food and practiced Italian customs Because YOU ARE ITALIAN... and, THEN, last Winter, your Dad comes home and says, "Do you want to go live in America? Christmas with American cousins at Gram & Poppy's will be a FIRST! Never seen a real American Santa, just pictures!!!

Your Dad is transferred to America first, and has been AWAY more than at home.

There is a lot of waiting because it is JUST Mom. Mom said she might as well be a single parent.

Life here LOOKS different. Houses are different, food is different and the clothes & shoes that kids wear are different. Now, YOU are THAT "New Girl" and the girl that has not played American sports or even heard of Cheerleading!

(And what's with ZOMBIES???)

Teachers are still Teachers, but spelling words are different, as is the language you speak when you are out and about. Grammar is awkward, reading is kinda difficult but Science and PE and Music and Art are fun! Eating breakfast as well as lunch with your class is fun! (What happened to pasta & bread at home for lunch?) No Saturday school here, Whoopee!!!

Mom made time for Scout meetings! Friends that go to scouts, are crafty & fun!

You are happy to find that Americans swim too, but in pools. Does every house in the U.S. have a pool? (That's where the town's water went! Who would have thought there was water rationing?) As in Italy, the U.S. has swim clubs! That's ONE thing that is the same :)

It's nice to find that other Military kids have come from other far away places and you find that they had to wait months for their toys and furniture to come across on a ship, too!

Some kids are just like our family, and hardly ever get to see their Daddy either.

You took a BIG LEAP moving from Italy to America!

And after the first quarter of school, you realize that you DID it!

Your family found a new home and you speak English now every day at school and go to a new 3rd grade class and you DID make NEW friends! It is just like Mom said it would be!

YOU took a BIG Leap of Faith, Girl!

And YOU did it!

YOU did it!

Yea!

Whew!!!

A BIG shout- out to our G.daughter and her siblings!

Gram & Poppy are proud of you and love you all!

This is Rachel running down a hill at her brother's Cub Scout day camp!

Playing in the woods near a creek was ANOTHER First! And it was so much fun!

every year I pick a theme for the wrapping paper I use on my presents

We were walking along the quiet residential streets of small sweet Tulum town. Just down one street, there it was, this lovely unpretentious shrine. A few bottles below, offerings. Luckily for me no bicyle had been parked in front yet.

There are shrines set up everywhere in México; large, small, grand and humble. I spotted some set back in front yards, in driveways, in convenience stores, lit up with Christmas lights in the poorest huts, at the sides of caves, on lonely stretches of dry roads and long highways. No matter the size, each shrine is created with love, for love.

I have found the Mexican people to be warm, friendly, happy and loving and each time I stood in front of a shrine, I felt all this.

Ideal Room Decorating Ideas For A...

I've been a naughty boy just before Christmas. Whilst I'm supposed to be on "holiday" and taking a break with family&friends, inspiration hit yesterday and I designed these new babies for release on WooThemes in January.

The concepts still need a little refinement, but the basics are there.

You can also ignore the order of the widgets on the homepage, as they will be... umm... WIDGETS... :) So you can move them around.

Let me know what you think.

Serious research aside, the centre also finds time for tourist kitsch. The girl at the booking window also serves as the sales lady for these butterfly themed trinkets which are displayed on a wide shelf below the ticket window. These gifts are apparently quite popular with the girls who visit the facility. (Bohol- Tagbilaran, Philippines, May 2013)

The Clickish Group had a Roman toga theme last week.

Thanks to Dana and Drake for a couple of pics. I've played with some also.

Disclaimer - The following is in NO Way True or has anything to do with anyone dead or alive! ^0^ I was inspired by the 2nd pic after this. ^_^

The five Arts and Crafts stained glass windows around the apse at St George's Cathedral are each in two parts. The upper scene is from the Old Testament, the lower scene from the New Testament.

So here the theme is food. The bottom scene is the Last Supper. At the top, manna falls to feed the starving Israelites on their trek back to their homeland.
