"Bangor's Paul Bunyan statue in Maine is 31' (9.45 metres) tall, can withstand winds of 110 mph (177 kmph) and is one of the largest statues dedicated to him in the world. Even though Lucette (Paul's wife) has begun to try to make him eat healthier, Paul weighs in around 3,700 lbs. (1678 kg.)
There is a time capsule hidden in his base which will be opened in 2084. The statue was donated in 1959 on Bangor's 125th anniversary. Designed by local artist J. Norman Martin and constructed by Messmoor & Damon, New York."

To celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, Dave and I set out on a road trip. Very fitting to do this... we have enjoyed road trips together from our beginning. They didn't stop when the girls were born - we didn't even slow down. In fact, we road tripped with new born Lorelei when she was just a few weeks old with her big sister Kimberley sitting beside her, singing songs to her as we rolled along.
We drove to Maine and visited several sights there in some of the pretty small towns. I met a friend, Joan, from a photography group in Portland, visited Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in fog so dense that we could barely see the top and ended our Maine tour in Bar Harbour. From there, on to Saint John, NB and the quaint villages around. We were awed by the beauty of the Bay of Fundy and its beaches and odd 'flower pot' structures, silenced by the peaceful fishing villages and enchanted by the friendliness of people everywhere.
Paul Bunyan is one of America's 'roadside attractions' and this was one sight I'd been wanting to see for a long time. Here he is, dripping wet under the pouring rain!

This was Lily's Birthday CAke. It was half chocolate w/strawberry filling and half vanilla w/banana pudding. I wanted the cake to spell out her name. All the cake decorations I got from a Party City Store..partycity.com/ . Thank you to Daila Segundo for a beautiful job..

Maintenant vous pouvez changer la couleur globale du thème, mais surtout ajouter une entête et un pied de page maison. Vous savez à quel point j’adore Netvibes, ce service s’améliore de jour en jour et je l’utilise en permanence quand je suis sur Internet, donc je suis vraiment heureux d’avoir mon thème perso à l'image de mon blog.
