The theme for this issue was fashion history between 1900-1900. To illustrate the history, we added close up images of items that were invented at that time as a backdrop to the fashion clothes.

Normally we are used to see landscape which are open, but in this photograph we see the landscape that surprised me when it showed itself for a moment framed behind the dull wall of a new building in Dolchin Street, at Givat Massuah- Jerusalem

Asian Pacific Festival of Arts & Music By the Sea unites the Asian Pacific communities, empowers them with a forum for expression, and promotes cultural diversity and awareness through arts and music. The theme “Reflection Through a Shining Community” captures the unity of our Asian Pacific communities and their successes.
The purpose of the Festival is to introduce and celebrate the rich Asian cultures, Asian arts, and Asian music artists to everyone, including the one-point-five and second generations Asian Americans, who might not have traveled to these Asian countries yet.
The opening ceremony on Saturday will kick off with Taiko drums, and the dragon boat demonstration. The Festival offers everyone a virtual trip to “HOME” in many Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, Thailand, Korea, India, Philippines, Japan, Cambodia and many more. Festival-goers will enjoy a variety of cultural exhibits, art walk, folk dances, fashion shows, music and entertainments, martial arts, food eating contests, cooking challenges, alcohol garden, and authentic food from different countries. Children will enjoy the day touring through the Kid’s Village where they will be issued a “Bon Voyage” Passport to tour different Asian countries. While there, the children have the opportunities to participate in fun and collaborative activities.
Highlights include APF Hip-Hop Dance Competition, Miss Scholarship Asian Pacific Pageant, and different exhibits inspired by various artists around the world.
The Festival’s closing ceremony will be on Sunday with an Ondo Dance and a Lantern Ceremony.

With Halloween around the corner there's plenty of chances to do theme shoots. I love theme shoots i wish i could them more often. Joy just happens to love halloween. The mentioned she has 7 costumes lined up for the week of halloween. The plan was to meet at 8 in the morning so we could get the shoot over with quickly and beat the harsh sunlight. I also just bought a knock off foldable softbox so i was anxious to test it out. About 6 am i received a text from joy stating she couldn't make it at 6 and could we reschedule for 12. I really hate shooting in the middle of the day with the harsh sun. It brings a whole set of problems of it's own from harsh shadows to cls not firing. In the city of bellflower there just happened to be a park with a pirate ship. After viewing the ship it just wasn't going to work. While the ship was cool the background around the area just seemed to busy and in my opinion takes you out of the scene. Lucky near the park there was a huge painting on the wall of a pirate ship and dock. I just tried to bring it all together the best i could and get something from the shoot. I have to say i was quite happy with the softbox. I had firing issues all day due to the sun but it seemed to give a nice even light. I did notice a few hot spots but it could be due to firing at full power to battle the sun. I really can't wait to use it again under better conditions.

I have been really busy lately helping my husband with his church preschool classroom world theme project that he designed. We painted in all the shapes but still needs line work to bring them all together.

Wings of America, Birds of Prey show
Screech Owl
March 27, 2009
The information below is from a 2008 Dollywood press release:
In July 1990, Dolly Parton announced the construction of a major eagle complex at Dollywood. The four‐part complex includes Eagle Mountain Sanctuary; a living showcase of American bald eagles; the “Wings of America” Theatre, featuring a birds of prey show; and an eagle breeding and rehabilitation facility, which includes an eagle medical clinic and nursery that is not open to the public.
The Eagle Complex is a cooperative effort between Dollywood and the American Eagle Foundation (AEF), a non‐profit organization with permits from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to possess, care for, exhibit, rehabilitate and breed birds of prey.
Eagle Mountain Sanctuary showcases the country’s largest presentation of non‐releasable bald eagles—more than a dozen birds—in a 1.5 million‐cubic‐foot natural outdoor aviary that recreates the birds’ natural habitat. The bald eagles are classified as non‐releasable because of permanent disabling factors and other good and lawful reasons and therefore are unable to survive on their own in the wild.
This unique showcase gives Dollywood visitors the rare opportunity to see these magnificent birds up close and learn more about the preservation efforts being conducted to help this now endangered species that has served as our country’s national symbol for more than 200 years.
Dollywood visitors also enjoy learning even more about the bald eagle and some of its feathered friends at the “Wings of America” show. The show’s format is exciting, entertaining and educational, as the beauty and power of hawks, falcons, vultures, owls and eagles are demonstrated “up close and personal.” The audience learns some of the unique characteristics about the individual species of birds and has the opportunity to see several of the birds in “free flight,” adding to the show’s surprise and excitement.
Perhaps Dollywood and the AEF’s most important work is taking place several miles from the park at the Breeding and Rehabilitation Center. The AEF has released more than 80 eagles since the 1980s. Since the spring of 1991, bald eaglets and golden eaglets have been hatched to parents that are permanent Dollywood residents. A number of birds have been rehabilitated and returned to their natural habitats in the wild.
