THEME: Are you pro or anti?
Ravon continues to WOW the judges with her confidence and fierceness. She scored 18 out of 20 and received her second first call-out of this season.
This week's theme is Electricity in the 52.5 of 2010 group. I realized that I forgot to post this for voting but I wanted to go ahead and put it up so the set is intact!
Disclaimer: At no time was my lovely model in danger of being electrocuted, although after about 10-12 shots she was getting whiney about the strobes going off in her eyes :)
Strobist- SB900 camera left in softbox to light her face, SB900 bare and zoomed to 200mm just out of frame left of the lgiht bulb to light it, enhanced in post. Fired TTL with Nikon CLS AWL.
A few florets still cling to one of the last dandelions growing in the yard. I think it's time for them to fly away and find a safe place for the winter. "See you and all your hundreds of brothers and sisters next spring!"

The Physical Plant is the area of a complex or building that houses the equipment that produces the heating, air and other systems that are used. This is the "Physical Plant" in the basement of Disney's Tower Of Terror, giving access to those "service elevators". Disney goes all out when theming their ride queues.

the macromonday theme for today, 6/17, is curves. got a couple of choices today- this one might be my fave for the color and the bokeh. the nugget is about an inch wide

I'm doing a sort of mini-theme week centered around Earth Day which is on thursday. Yesterday's photo was all about getting out and enjoying Mother Nature. Today it's about switching over to eco-friendly options, trade in those ineffiecient bulbs for new long lasting bulbs that save energy!
Today my school had a bike/walk to work/school day and it was awesome to see so many bikes! There were so many that the bikes racks had filled up by the time I got there and we had to store bikes in offices and storage rooms just to keep them out of the main areas.
Now it's off to enjoy a BBQ with my Tuesday after-school group!

I got a pic of a beautiful tree, and then decided to do this just to add variety.
The green is from the D. M. Marathon 5K, which was two days prior.
The location is approximate; it was somewhere along Atkins, but I can’t locate the tree from the sat map.

The Macro Mondays theme for tomorrow, 9/12, is low key so I’m trying pictures with low light using my Iphone’s camera— a bit of a challenge to be sure!
Will also post some later *from* my beloved canon870, a point and shoot that I love using for macros but haven’t used for a while, during my 6 month experimenting with the iPhone that has now gone on for 20 months. (Please don’t hate me for that run-on sentence— grin)

Although best known for its theme park, Alton Towers is home not only to one of the most fantastical ruined houses in the country, but also one of its very finest gardens.
The gigantic houses stands - or rather, slowly crumbles - as a monument to the megalomania, and indeed wealth, of two successive Earls of Shrewsbury. It was the 15th Earl who began to enlarge the house in around 1810, and started work on the gardens in 1814. His nephew, succeeding in 1827, embarked upon a career of compulsive fantasy building on a scale equalled only by Ludwig II of Bavaria.
At least eight architects were involved at Alton Towers. James Wyatt was one of the first, but he died in 1813, so cannot be held responsible for a great deal. One of the last, Augustus Pugin, appeared in 1837, but most of his work was largely confined to decoration.
The 15th Earl crammed the park and gardens with buildings and follies of one kind or another. The chief builder of these was Robert Abraham, who was responsible for the vaguely oriental conservatory, together with the orangery, rotunda, screw fountain, gothick prospect tower, classical loggia and Chinese pogoda fountain, amongst others.
The Pagoda Fountain is one of the most impressive and memorable features in the Gardens, using gravity to propel water up to 70ft into the air. The architect, Robert Abraham, had originally envisioned a six-story Pagoda, but the plans were scaled back to the three-storey structure that still operates today. It is said to be modelled on the To-Ho Pagoda in Canton.
