"Yo Frenchie. Don't let him take your photo. He's gonna put it in the magazine and make money."
"Nah. I lose money with photography. Never made a dime."
"Then why you wanna photo. What the fuck, guy!"
"I'm an artist. People on the street amaze me. Like you guys. Your stories and lives. They are what make books and movies, and songs and photos. I just happen to be a photographer."
"Frenchie, don't let him take your photo-- I don't trust him."
"Hey that's fine. I won't take any photos. But in your face I see all of life: pain, struggle, strength, purpose, joy and love, toughness and stolidity. And those are the things I like to photograph."
Silence. Frenchie is still looking at his reflection, fixing his hair and adjusting his never smoked hand held cigarette.
"Hey, Frenchie. Move aside. Let me get in that photo."
"I'll print out a copy and bring it to you."

Held every year in the village of Much Marcle in Herefordshire. One of my favourite events of the year, with apple tastings, unusual apple varieites for sale, apple identifications, orchard tours, andso forth.
This year I just went to make some contacts for getting the apples in the Cefn Ila orchard identified.

Just thought I'd pop in and share some of my New York images. This image was taken in Central Park, this was a beautiful area where some people were playing instruments and singing. We had a great trip, though it was sweltering hot for a couple days but I survived :-)
There were so many things to see and do. We even went to the B&H Photo and Video store, that was a big surprise. We were walking the streets and turned a corner I looked up and said "hey, there's the B&H store," my husband looked at me and knowingly smiled...it was all part of the plan. And by that time I was ready for some airconditioning. But what a store, it's huge, it's massive. I inquired from the teller how much money's worth of merchandise there was but he couldn't give me a figure other than LOTS ;-) My husband blessed me with a SB - 900 speedlight which will come in handy as I have to shoot a wedding next weekend...nervous...but if I never try, I'll never succeed.
You can see more images of our trip and read about it on my blog if you'd like, click on the link below.

A view of Times Square taken by me on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
Times Square is a major intersection in Manhattan, a borough of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. The Times Square area consists of the blocks between Sixth and Eighth Avenues from east to west, and West 40th and West 53rd Streets from south to north, making up the western part of the commercial area of Midtown Manhattan ~ Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My fiance and took a little 3 day trip to New York City. He proposed to me in Little Italy :) We both had a very nice time. Though it was stressful because it was our first time there and we had no idea what we were doing or where we were going.
