Now Summer is in flower, and Nature’s hum
Is never silent round her bounteous bloom;
Insects, as small as dust, have never done
With glitt’ring dance, and reeling in the sun;

Thank you!
The texture of the glassine structure in this wing, that allows the insect to fly, truly fit's Janet's requirement in that it is texture you have to "feel with your eyes". It is far too fragile to be felt with a human fingertip, as that would destroy it. I found this wing in my yard, and transported it around on a piece of paper so I could photograph it.
A further explanation of this kind of texture is noted in Vasanthi Balson's image posted today on Flickr. As always, thank you Vasanthi for expanding my world!
Cliché - yes
Still drew me over to take the shot - also yes

A week of abstract textures inspired by the long-awaited return of Canadian spring. Starting it off with the soft yellow haze of a dandelion in bloom.

Saturday Self Challenge
For this challenge we will explore one of my favorite topics: Texture. Find a subject that has texture and take a photo that accentuates the different facets of it. Colour or black and white is fine, process in any way that accents the texture of your subject as needed.
I’ve had this scarf for many years, I hardly ever wear it simply because of its texture it tends to get a bit itchy. I tried folding it up all neat for the photo shoot, but that didn’t work very well. In the end I just scrunched it into a pile, took the photos, then processed it using the mirror effect in Affinity Photo. I did try it in B&W but it just didn’t work.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
