I really enjoyed stitching this piece of textured embroidery.

I also loved looking for bits and pieces to include in it such as beads, buttons, sequins and different threads. There's even a section of copper pipe in there. I've added a note to show where it is.

Such a fascinating attractive plant with it's prickly conical seed head, that flowers and over the season changes from green to a dried brown colour.

I wasn't too sure about the difference between a herbs and spices, and where cinnamon belongs! So I checked with the Wiki ;o)

"Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum that is used in both sweet and savoury foods".

"Hummingbird Texture" by Patti Deters. This Ruby-throated Hummingbird (archilochus colubris) image was photographed in my own backyard in Minnesota. It kept trying to "eat" from from the frost-nipped leaf. I'm not sure what the attraction was - perhaps there was a small pool of water on the leaf that it was drinking. I felt a wee bit creative with this shot so made it black and white....lol. I know you don't see Asha's face here but you do see the back of her neck and upper back which shows off her lovely curls. It is a part of Asha that I rarely show in my pictures mainly because I focus on her face and because she is mostly wet...lol. I don't know why I like this picture maybe because I think it has texture and shows off Asha's fur beautifully and black and white just makes it more artistic I think...lol...Hope others think so too

Thanks to Pareerica and Charlie-Taylor for use of their textures .

The contrast in the color and textures of the rocks resting on the stony outcrop accented by the warm tones of the leaves caught my eye. I'd love to know how the rounded lumpy rock in the foreground ended up in that spot. Definitely press 'L' to see the detail in the textures.
