A FUN EXPERIMENT!
Done with Gesso, Tissue Paper, Watercolor & Acrylic.
For anyone who might be interested, this is the technique.
I used a heavy backing board from a sketch pad.
I Gessoed it completely using a palette knife to spread it thin but cover well.
I tore pieces of white tissue paper and applied it using more gesso as the glue, with an old stiff brush.(Keep brush wet and rinse occasionally).
Let the pieces form wrinkles and bumps...you are going for texture, but make sure there are no air pockets under the tissue. You can make the ridges and grooves as thick or thin as you desire.
Let it dry completely.
Now you can draw on it and/or just freely apply any medium.
Quite different than painting on paper however...:)

I am no longer sure whose texture this is. I know it is not my own, but it was free under creative commons. It's PROBABLY Lenabem-Anna, though :-) Or maybe Skeletal Mess? I made the image before I knew it was proper to give credit to the texture artist. I know better now, though.

Interesting contrast and texture between 2 colors on the land with a house placed on a beautiful position. This sight was just screaming to be photographed. Shot in Tuscany Val D'orcia.
Just some fun with abstract bokeh and a texture. HBW everyone :)
Altered the white balance on this one from As Shot to Auto and I liked what it did to the colors. Makes it look a bit different from my other ones.
White Lines: Or a larger view on black
Ticket to ride, white line highway
Tell all your friends, they can go my way
Pay your toll, sell your soul
Pound for pound costs more than gold
The longer you stay, the more you pay
My white lines go a long way
Either up your nose or through your vein
With nothin to gain except killin’ your brain
